Snowdrops
The little boy with bushy red-hair and deep blue eyes came barreling into the living room, coming to a stop in front of Luna.
With a smile, Luna looked to the four-year-old boy, turning away from his parents.
"Hello Hugo," Luna said in her sing-song voice as she leaned forward to pick the skinny boy up in her arms and place him on her lap.
"I got somethin for you," the little boy stated in almost shy tones before he lifted his little fist. Luna looked curiously and felt her smile widen as she saw the little flower, it's green stem clenched in a small pudgy hand. However, the white little bud was difficult to mistake for anything else.
"A snowdrop, how pretty. Thank you, Hugo," Luna stated, aware of the other adults looking on with fond, amused smiles. For some unknown reason, Hugo had always had a particular affection for Luna.
"It's white. It reminds me of your hair, and name... mommy says it means moon," Hugo stated staring at Luna with wide eyes that were alit with a hopeful sort of expectation.
"That's very thoughtful of you, sweetie," Luna stated gently, tucking the flower into her hair before raking her own fingers through Hugo's hair and placing a kiss on his forehead.
The small redhead boy laughed happily before jumping off Luna's lap and running off.
"I think someone's got a crush," Ron smirked.
"But he's much smoother than you ever were, mate," Harry joked, causing Hermione, Ginny and Luna to laugh as Ron turned bright red.
"He's a very sweet, little boy, Hermione," Luna commended, causing the other witch to beam proudly.
"Any thoughts of having one of your own?" Ginny asked, where she sat with little Lily on her lap, napping.
Luna merely smiled mysteriously, while a hand absently played with a tress of her hair, while another rested over her abdomen.
Her thoughts were on snowdrops, which were the symbols for hope and new beginnings.
