And His Body Burned

He once burned up a planet just to say good-bye to her, never even giving it a second thought. He even pondered her suggestion to 'come through properly' even if it did collapse both universes, it would have been worth it, just to spend just a few more seconds with her. There was a stinging in his eyes and the tears began to fall. He swallowed the building lump in his throat and watched hopelessly as she vanished before his eyes.

And his body burned. Burned with a relentless heat and overbearing sadness that reached into the innermost regions on his soul. His heart burned and yearned for a love now lost, and the only thing he could do was weep.

But that was then, and although it had only been a few years time it had felt like an eternity. She didn't care if he was part human now, in fact she quite fancied that, the pair of them growing old together, living out the rest of their lives side by side, just as it should have always been.

And his body burned. It burned stronger than ever before; but this fire inside him now was made of nothing but the love for her that boiled through his veins. Her finger tips danced over his skin as if they were flames, her lips made the inferno inside of him erupt with overwhelming bliss each time they pressed against him, even when they had their troubles the blaze was there, albeit weak, but never extinguished.

She ignited him body and soul, and so it was with searing, wandering lips and blazing hands roaming over already sizzling bodies that they stoked the shared conflagration between them, and he had no intentions of dousing it, as long as they were one.

And his body burned, and he welcomed every second of it.
