Bee sting stings
After their exam, Aoi rushed downstairs. He was so excited for their practice that he wished he had finished the exam earlier. If he had, he would've been earlier than the others. Maybe Sae-san was the first to arrive.
When he finally got there, the tennis courts were empty. Aoi stopped to a halt.
"Where are they?" he said to himself. Oji didn't say that they would practice somewhere else. And as a captain, he should always be the first to know where they would have their practice.
He ran and circled the tennis courts. No one was in sight. He scratched his head.
"ANYONE AROUND??" he said out loud. No reply.
"ZZZZ"
The sound came from where Oji kept his hand-made rackets.
Aoi stopped. Maybe it was them.
He ran. A surge of excitement came over him again. He hoped it was really them.
When he was at the door, he took a deep breath and placed his ear on it. To his surprise, the sound didn't come from inside. He looked around and saw a swarm of honeybees on a branch of a nearby tree.
Aoi wondered why bees would want to build a beehive there. He moved closer to the tree, to get a better view.
"ZZZZ…"
A honeybee flew towards him. Then another. Then a bunch. Then a hundred of them.
"HEEEELLLLP!!!" Aoi ran as fast as he can. He shouldn't have taken a closer look at them.
A long-haired guy with a cap was coming from afar. It was Ryou. It seemed to Aoi that he didn't hear him scream.
"MIIINNNNNAA!!"
A minute later, he saw Dabide and Bane-chan behind Ryou. Then Sae-san and Itt-chan.
Saeki saw what was following Aoi and stopped. The rest followed what he did. Ryou, however, didn't stop. He didn't see the bees.
Aoi ran past Ryou, towards Saeki. "SAE-SAAAAN!!!"
Ryou blinked as swarm of bees flew towards him.
He ran.
Aoi was quite relieved that few now followed him and the rest followed Ryou. But a few was still too much.
Sae-san and the others, at the sight of bees, scampered away in different directions.
After almost 5 minutes of endless running, Oji arrived. When the boys saw him, they ran towards the old man.
Ryou arrived first, then Dabide and Bane-chan. Then Aoi, Saeki and Itt-chan. All were planning to use Oji as a shield.
"Why are you all running? Practice hadn't started yet." Oji softly said.
Suddenly, the bees stopped flying.
"ZZZZZZ…"
Then, the bees flew away towards the place where they came from.
Everyone's—except Oji's—jaw dropped.
"Why? Why? Why did they go away? Why?" Itt-chan asked. Others glanced at Oji, hoping to find answers.
Oji glanced back at them. The only answer they got was a twitch of his long, white beard.
