Imprisonment

Harry is imprisoned in a tower, thinking about the girl he loved, about suffering, about life.
Disclaimer: If I lived in my own little world, I would be the genius who thought up Harry Potter. As such, I do not live in my own little world, and thus, I do NOT own Harry Potter.
I hide up in my tower. Sitting by the open window, I see the stars in the sky, above the open ocean, glittering…glittering…
A star
Fell from the sky
And landed
On her head
She didn't cry
But I did instead
For her
To grant her
Salvation
I think of her, and of how she sat by the window. I see her smile, and I weep tears of joy and sadness…but now…crippled and destroyed...it's more than I can bear.
Her smile
Can shine through
Clouds of light
And sorrow
Happiness
And love
Exist in this world
I know they do
They must
To live like this, with no one, is terrible…terrible…how could she have survived for so many years? Living, without love, no one…no one is there.
I see the light
The moon shines
And the window
Freedom beckons
It calls me
Beckoning
I answer
And it flees
I stay
The meaning of imprisonment…I never understood it. I never did, but now…the darkness closes in on me, and to see it here, I think of her again…I think like I never have before.
To see the stars
And join them
Was my wish
For her
A mere fantasy
Persistence
From the dark
I pushed her into light
And saw her die
I never knew the meaning of pain before…pain that permeates my skin and bone. The loss I feel…it cannot be human. There must be something more…for me and for her…there must.
I wish the pain
To leave her
Come into me
As one
And let us
Dance in the dark
Forever lonely
Forever alone
With no one
I sob gently, and the stars in the sky shimmer faintly. Looking up, I see her face, in the mirror of my mind. I see her pain. I step up to the windowsill, balanced precariously on the edge.
One step
Is all it takes
To join her
Just one
The land of the shadows
And darkness
The light
Will be left behind
Hidden from my view
I step from the window, stepping forward, and the cool ocean air comes up to meet me. I feel the light of the stars on my face…the rush of the air through my hair. I feel her hand, guiding me…
I feel no more.
Author's Note: My first fanfic! It's not that bad…READ AND REVIEW PLEASE!
Updated (7.7.08) When I first wrote this, I was expanding on a poem I had written…I meant to make Hermoine the girl Harry was thinking of, and to have a chapter with Hermoine in it. However, I've discovered my poetic-ness (that's not even a word…) only goes so far…so you can assume the girl to be whoever you want her to be, and this story thus comes to an end. Unless I think of some ideas for future chapters.
Thank you for reading.
