Levy looked up from her book. She sat at the guild hall wearing her usual orange-bowed dress. She heard the guild hall doors open. In sauntered her iron dragon slayer. He made his way over to her barstool.
"How's it going?" Gajeel asked.
That set Levy off. How dare he ask that, when he knew her two brother-figures were in the infirmary?! They were there for the same thing he kept doing, relentlessly. It was the very reason she had broken up with him.
FLASHBACK:
The guild doors slammed open. In crawled Jet ad Droy, covered in blood.
" JET! DROY!" Levy yelled. Her two friends had gone on a supply run, and had obviously ran into a couple of the dead walking around.
Wendy jumped up and ran to them. She immediately started trying to heal them. It wasn't working. Elfman ran in and picked them up. He brought them to the infirmary. Immediately, Mirajane, Wendy, and the Master were surrounding them trying to save their lives.
" Get Levy out of here Elfman!" Makarov shouted.
"NOOO!" Levy screamed, being carried out.
-A couple of days later-
Makarov, and Wendy walked up to Levy.
" The boys are on a thin line between life and death. We have cast a preserving spell, but you should spend time with them while you can." Makarov said sadly.
Levy stood up as calmly as possible. Before she walked away to sit with Lucy, she gave Gajeel hard glare. He visibly flinched. She then continued to strut over to sit with her best friend.
" Levy, some time, you need to forgive him. Just because he continues to do missions in a dangerous situation, doesn't mean you can't still be with him." Lucy said wisely.
" I know you're right Lucy. If Jet and Droy pull through, I'll talk to him. But this is the apocalypse. You have to be careful, or you'll end up on the long list of the dead."
" I'll see you after I get back. I'm going to Fairy Hills to help Wendy with research. The poor girl hates being left alone in this, especially after what happened to Carla."
"Ok, I'll see you later." Levy said, not really listening anymore. She had noticed Gajeel staring at her, so she stared back. She refused to back down from a challenge.
'Wow, I'm really turning into my Edolas self' Levy thought. ' I'll have to work on that.'
