NOTICE: before you read this story, please keep in mind that it is DISCONTINUED. I am so sorry but I don't want to write horrible stuff for the sake of getting reviews and i don't think i'll ever be motivated to edit and rewrite this story again.
Prologue for "Oh puzzle piece, where have you gone?"
No one's Pov.
He stared at the letter in his hands, bewildered. No matter how many times Shun Kazami read it, it didn't make a difference. He couldn't believe it. How could a single piece of paper with no more than 200 words have such a lasting effect on the ninja?
The raven haired boy sighed. It had to be a dare, or some kind of sick joke. That's it, a joke. Nothing more, nothing less. But if it's a joke, then why can't I throw the damn letter away? He knew the answer though. The letter sent to him without a return address, had unhinged him, something that didn't occur very often. The simple words written in black ink that danced on the lined sheet of paper was like pure magic itself.
Of course it feels like magic. He thought. Until now, I never even thought about you existing. But now I do. And now that I do, it's like a drug. A drug I can't touch but is right in front of me. And until I find the truth, I won't stop searching for you, father.
He booted up his laptop, logged on to his email, and replied just as the anonymous person had wanted. He typed in a one word answer "Okay", praying that the risk was worth it.
Chapter 1 - Shun's Here! But Why?
Alice Pov.
"Alice! I'm back with your friend from Japan!"
I hurried from my bedroom to the entrance of the house, where my grandfather was welcoming our guest. The guest, to be more specific, was my friend Shun Kazami, who I hadn't seen for almost 4 years.
I was surprised when I got an email from him asking if he could stay at my house in Moscow for a little while. Shun lived all the way in Japan at his grandfather's dojo, so I figured he had some important reason to come if he was willing to come all the way here. Especially because he wasn't the type to just come and visit for the sake of visiting.
When I'd reached them, Shun had already gotten his jacket and shoes off and was standing in the kitchen. He turned from hearing me enter the room, and gave me a tired smile.
"Shun!" I launched myself at him, giving him a friendly hug. I looked at him more closely; he was still the handsome guy from years before. Raven black hair that reached his shoulders. Honey brown eyes that look gold in the sun. The only difference I saw was that he'd grown a few inches taller. I smiled into his chest; I was sure glad to have a friend here.
Shun Pov.
The first thing I noticed after getting off the plane was how cold Moscow was. Of course, I had brought warm clothes knowing what season it was, but I didn't expect it to be that cold. Even my body that had been trained to adapt to harsh weather conditions was freezing.
"Shun?" I turned to see Alice's grandfather, Michael Gehabich. Although he might be a little insane with all his experiments, I still had high respect for him. He smiled at me through his rectangular glasses. "Ah, long time no see. Alice will be so glad to have you over, and so will I."
"Thanks, Dr. Michael." I said, as I hopped into his car quickly to avoid the chilly air. There was classical music playing in the car, the kind that makes you really sleepy. My will power to stay awake was fading.
"You're welcome to sleep in the car, Shun. You must be tired after that flight." I nodded, barely conscious of what he was telling me. "I'll wake you when we arrive."
When I woke up, we were in front of a beautiful house. It looked so comforting, much more comforting than the hotels I was planning on staying at. Dr. Michael led me into their house and called Alice. She ran down the stairs, screamed my name and to my surprise, gave me a huge.
It took a moment for me to hug back. I guess it was the same old Alice that couldn't hurt a fly. The same old Alice I used to be in love with. I wasn't sure how I felt now - I figured my feelings for her had faded. Either way, I didn't want to find out. If I did, I wouldn't be able to leave.
Alice led me to the guest room, which was cozy like the rest of the house. I started unpacking, when she asked the one question I was hoping she wouldn't ask. "Why are you here in Moscow? I haven't seen you for years, but I know you wouldn't come just to visit."
I closed my eyes. I hated lying to people, especially her. But I had no choice; the reason I was here wasn't that simple. I wasn't even sure how long I was going to be in Moscow for. I sighed. "I've got relatives in France, and I figured I might as well visit you along the way."
Alice Pov.
I knew he was lying. And I had a feeling he knew that I knew that he was lying, but I didn't push it farther. He probably had reasons for lying. Besides, he was quite a closed off guy.
But it was one of those things that kept me up all night. I kept wondering why he came, and why he was so off. It might've been from being tired, but I was certain that wasn't it. I sighed and fell into restless sleep.
Woohoo! I'm so excited for this story! This was the story I was actually going to publish first, but I decided I wanted my first published story to be a oneshot. I'll probably upload 1 chapter a week, depending on how busy I am with school. Review please!
