This is based on The Drawing of the Dark and features Arthur's daughter: Sophia
Merlin's P.O.V
On our way home after the knights hunting trip, we came across (about 10) dead Saxons. As we were investigating, Mordred saw a person run deeper into the forest. We immediately followed them. He'd finally caught up with however they were and told them to run. I decided not to mention it at the time... It didn't seem the right thing to do.
*At Home: Present Time*
"I don't trust Mordred..." I start to Gaius
"I don't care what that man told you, Mordred is a loyal knight! He proved this time after time"
"He's tricked you, he's tricked you all!"
"You're wrong Merlin"
"When we were out..." I tell Gaius what I saw and after a lot more arguing, he finally gives in.
Sophia's P.O.V
"Merlin tells me you're to ride tomorrow" I say sitting down.
"Yes, why do you ask?"
"I was wondering may I come with you?"
"You do realise we're at war?" He almost laughs
"So? I could help?" This time he almost chokes!
"A war zone is no place for a girl, besides my daughter, princess of Camelot"
"Father, please I'm not an ornament just to be wrapped in tissue. I can look after myself."
"I can't take that risk! I will let you know if there's any safe time for you to come out with me, okay?"
"Okay" I end the conversation
Merlin's P.O.V
"Where have you been?" I say to Mordred. He looks at me, startled but angry.
"No where..."
"I don't believe you"
"You've no right to question me..." He retorts "Why? Why are you doing this?"
"I saw you let her go... Maybe I should tell the king"
"Merlin... She's a druid, I know her and even worse she was wounded... What could I do? Let her be captured?"
"You're taking a big risk"
"But I can't let her die, she's someone... I can't explain"
"Where is she" I demand
"She'll be gone in a few days. She means no harm! Please.. You can't tell anyone!"
"...Your secret is safe with me" I give in
"MERLIN!" I hear down the corridor, I turn around look back and Mordred's gone.
