Meanwhile Part 2
Futurama Fanfiction
This is a fanfic I wrote about what happened after the Professor hit the time button to send them back. Enjoy and don't be afraid to tell me what you thought about it! :)
"What do you say? Wanna go around again?" Fry gazed at Leela.
"I do." Leela replied as the two embraced the fact that they would get to live their lives over again, and just like that a flash appeared and they were taken back right before the Professor ever made the time button, which also happened to be right before Fry proposed to Leela. They were taken back to the moment right after Leela almost died at Luna Park. However something wasn't right. The Professor had told them they would not remember a single thing that happened, but this did not seem to be the case. All their memories were still there of their life they lived together. Fry turned to Leela and spoke.
"Well what do you know, I guess we will get to keep the memories! Isn't this great Leela?"
"I guess you could say that, but what the hell was the Professor thinking to scare us like that into thinking we wouldn't regain those memories? I mean our lives could have been nearly over if we just decided to not listen to that ol..." Leela was interrupted by a call from the professor.
"Whoopsies!" The professor excaimed.
"Umm... yeah professor, could you maybe explain what happened here?" Leela uttered in a confused tone.
"Wha...? Oh yes! It seems that I forgot to switch on the memory forgetterolizer that I added into the time button when repairing it! Therefore, all of your memories are still there, good as ever!"
Fry interrupted the conversation.
"Wait a minute Professor, you mean we did have a choice to keep our memories, and you didn't tell us?"
"Oh my yes! Sorry about that. Now you two enjoy your second life together or something like that. Buh bye!" The professor hung up. Fry and Leela were experiencing multiple emotions, still stunned that they could live their lives again, talk to their friends once more, and grow old together a second time.
"Leela?" Fry questioned with a soft voice as he was struggling to put words together.
"Yes Fry?" He stared deep into her face, hoping for words to come to him, but to no avail.
"I don't know what to say, there's a feeling inside of me that I cannot express with words. Not many people in this world, at least to what I know, that get to live their lives with the person they love more than once, and I do. I, I just don't know how to understand this." Fry teared up a little bit as the two exchanged a long lasting hug. They later agreed to not mention this to their co-workers as it would confuse them and no one would even believe them, but still, the two of them knew that what they had was something special. A second chance. A second time to live life's wonders and experiences together, except this time they could watch the sunset as they sat by each other quietly, as the day would end for them for the first time in decades.
