Pretend that the hot fevered kisses pressed against his chapped and bruised lips were truly for him.
Sometimes he could pretend that the name that fell from the kiss hardened lips was his own. But it never was.
Sometimes he could pretend that he didn't hear the name that fell from the other's lips, causing a aching in his chest.
Sometimes he could pretend that the soft kissed upon his lips and loving look was for him and no one else alone.
Sometimes he could pretend that he didn't hear the soft, broken sobs in the middle of the still night.
Sometimes he could pretend that the love that shone in the bright blue eyes was for him and him alone.
"I love you Sasuke…"
But sometimes he couldn't.
In his dreams though, he could pretend that his love was enough to heal the other's wounds that ran deep…
But he never could…
He could pretend though…
