"You did good today." I told him. He looked, sad? I just thought he needed cheering up a little.
"I don't think I treated anyone that wasn't 2 years younger than me." He said to me. I didn't know what to say. Was he worried because he was young, or...? So instead, I decided to try and make him laugh.
"You'll feel differently once you get that first pint down your neck." I said with a big grin. I saw his face lit up. That was the plan, and it was going well. I also got the impression that he was a fun loving man, didn't mind drinking a bit.
"You said the magic words, but I'm going to go home and tuck the kids in first." He smiled at me. His smile was genuine, and it made me see that he was a true family man. I liked it, made me feel, safe... I was going to reply, but Tess walked up to me. I sighed.
"I thought you'd want to know that your sister got the job. She's starting here tomorrow." Tess said and my mind completely forgot about my conversation with Fletch. My sister got the job?
"Here?" I asked, which was a stupid question as I was just repeating what Tess had said.
"MmmHmm." She replied and my face fell. Fletch must have seen it and decided to cheer me up like I had done with him.
"Don't worry. You'll feel differently once you get that first pint down your neck." He repeated my exact words. So he did take notice of me.
"Don't." I replied, giggling and blushing a little. He really made an impression on me. I quite like him. He seems like a nice guy, reminded me a bit of Lenny. But Lenny was gone now. I like Fletch, but I wonder if he is too much like Lenny and I will end up making a mistake...
