This was the day. Michiru knew it with every fiber of her being. Today was the day that she would finally finish her mission. The mission that had cost her everything and everyone in her life.

Except for the woman sitting across from her. She had been there for her through most of it all.

And now she was hurting. Deeply.

"These hands are dirty already. No matter what I have to do, I'll get the talisman." Haruka told her, staring at her hands as she said it.

Michiru sat down on the window seat and reached out, clasping hands with Haruka. She let go, leading the two of them in a few moves before clasping her hand, tightly, again.

"Don't worry; I like your hands." She told her, honestly.

Haruka looked shocked, but did not release her hand. They stared at each other for a long moment and then Michiru made a decision. Leaning forward, she pressed her lips to Haruka's.

Their relationship had been a complex one since the beginning. When Haruka became a senshi they had been together, first as partners and then as a couple. As a couple, they had been affectionate; they would kiss and cuddle together on the sofa at night. But that was as far as they had ever gone. By an unspoken agreement, neither of them had ever admitted anything to the other. Michiru knew that deep down that there was more, something that she was not allowing herself to face. It was a necessity if she was to go on with the mission in the event that Haruka died. It would hurt too much to lose her if the feelings were deeper.

She didn't even want to think about that possibility.

However, right in that moment, as she kissed Haruka something inside of her broke. She reached out her hand, that one that was not holding Haruka's, and slid her fingers into Haruka's hair. She pulled her closer and deepened the kiss. She tried to put everything that she felt into that kiss, everything that she had hidden deep in her heart, everything that she wanted the relationship to be, their future together that probably would never happen.

They broke apart and Michiru leaded her forehead against Haruka's, trying to catch her breath.

"I'm sorry." She apologized, hating that she was the one who broke their agreement.

Haruka didn't say anything, just squeezed her hand.

Michiru licked her lips. "I love you." She whispered.

She didn't wait for a reply. She didn't expect one. Haruka wasn't the type for that kind of thing. It was the wrong time for that kind of confession, but she might not have another.

Gripping her towel tightly, she walked into her bedroom and softly closed the door. Then she leaned against it and started to cry. She cried for everything that was about to happen. She cried for her old life, now long gone. She cried for over the fact that at the age of seventeen, she was more than likely going to die, or have to watch the woman she loved die.

Taking a deep breath, she counted to five, allowing herself to feel everything. Then she pushed it into a deep part of her mind and went to get dressed. It was time to face her destiny and get the talismans.
