"Lionkit, Dustkit, shouldn't you go play with your siblings? I'm sure they'd be happy to," a queen coaxed two kits.
A pale tabby looked towards her identical sister; the only difference was Dustkit's lighter hue. Lionkit looked towards the lighter she-kit, who shyly nodded in agreement.
They both stumbled over to the sunlit side of the nursery, their golden pelts shining in the newleaf sun.
Two plump kits tumbled around the nursery, laughing as a reddish tabby prodded his running sister on her tail, "Your it!" he giggled, darting away.
"Hi, Wrenkit," the darker she-kit chimed, "Can we play with you and Maplekit?" the other twin asked softly, the reddish tabby exchanging nervous looks with his sister.
"Um, I'm not sure if you can play tag with us," Maplekit stammered, "Yeah, it should be too tireing for you two." The other kit confirmed.
Only a few seconds later they scrambled away in blind terror, outside the warm nursery. Dustkit looked at her sister, both shrowded in disappointment.
Almost every cat thought that they were the spawn of the Dark Forest, or a blunder of StarClan; as some said instead. Insults were tossed around every day by warriors, even unknownst that the twins could hear. Strangly, their littermates Wrenkit & Maplekit turned out perfect, true gifts from StarClan.
"Want to go ask Fennelfur for a story?" the darker she-kit offered, trying to cheer up the glum kit.
"No thanks," she mumbled.
Lionkit hesitated as she slumped onto the nursery's floor, forcing her sister to do the same. The two of them were conjoined at the side, their necks and heads the only part they could freely move by themselves.
"Well, then I don't know what to do." Lionkit snorted, lashing her tail.
