"Alex, go to bed!"
"But I want to see their cutie marks!"
"You still watch that? Heh, I didn't know you swung that way."
"I don't, you jerk!"
"I don't see a girlfriend."
"You know what?"
"What? You girlfriend is a talking cartoon horse?"
"You should kill yourself!"
Chapter 1
After that conversation with my dad, I was sent to my room. No television, computer, or video games for three weeks. I cried into my pillow and thanked that asshole for reminding me of how lonely I was. I sat there, still as stone, and eventually fell into a not-so-graceful slumber.
...
I was pulled out of my rest by the sound of glass breaking and a loud thud. I, the brave man I am, jumped out the covers and hid behind the bed. I was being as quiet as I could, listening to see if it was a burglar. Just as I was about to run, I heard a wince. I thought to myself, 'That wasn't someone breaking in, that was someone falling in!' I stood up and walked towards the other side of the bed.
"Are you okay?", I said into the dark void that was my room.
"No, I'm not. Can you help me up?", the voice was female. I could've sworn I've heard it before, too.
"Yeah, hold on," I pushed all those thoughts to the back of my mind, "I'll turn on the lights."
"Please hurry. Ow, my wing."
That last comment made my head spin. 'Wings? She has wings?' I repeatedly said in my head. I reached the light switch and flicked it on. I wanted to see what was behind me, but I was afraid that this might be a nightmare with some monster with a gentle voice. I mustered up the courage to turn around, what I saw is something I will never forget. With the light just now entering the room I couldn't make out shapes, only a blur colors. A large mass of purple was the most prominent. As my eyes adjusted to the light, the mass became clearer and clearer, until it was fully visible.
Twilight Sparkle, the princess of friendship, in my bedroom. I just stood there, dumbfounded, I didn't know what to do. I looked at her for a good amount of time before I ran next to her.
"What's wrong?" I didn't say her name because I wasn't sure what to call her in the first place.
"My wing, it's broken," she said,"I think."
"Let me take a look, okay?", I asked, "Tell me if it hurts."
I began inspecting the wing, I realized I knew nothing about alicorn wings. Now that I think about it, I knew nothing about wings in general. But with my knowledge of basic human anatomy and bone structure, it seemed to be the same as something slipping out of place.
"Hold on tight, okay?", I stood up, "I'll be back, I promise."
I went into the hallway and opened the closet where we kept washcloths and towels. I grabbed a washcloth and returned to my room closing the door behind me. I returned to my magical intruder.
"Now, this is going to hurt a bit. When it does bite down on this and try to be quiet, okay?"
"Okay," her words are muffled by the washcloth, "I'll try."
I gently place my hands on either side of the fault. I then put the wing into place with a quick jerk and and a push. Twilight lets out a little squeal, but nothing loud enough to wake someone up.
"There!", I took the washcloth out of her mouth, I could feel her breath hit my hand, "That wasn't too bad, was it?"
She lifts her wing, moves it around and smiles.
"Thank you," she said standing up and wiping a tear from her eye, "I'll be on my way now."
"Um," I rubbed the back of my head, "can you fix my window when you leave?"
