Just a short fic about my favorite scene in Tangled. ;) I just re-watched the movie after a few months, and I was again reminded of how much I love it. XD Plus I haven't written a Tangled fic in awhile, and I've been wanting to. Please leave a review! :)
Eugene's POV.
I turn around and see her dancing, her long, golden braid whirling around her figure as she spins. I watch as she begins to pull individual villagers along with her. At first they're hesitant, but there's just something about this girl that charms them. In a matter of moments she has the entire crowd dancing in sync with the lively tune.
I smile as she twirls into view. She sees me, and beckons silently with her hand for me to join her. I wave my own in declination, but suddenly I'm roughly pushed in the midst of the crowd. I turn around and glare at the white horse laughing at me, but I'm quickly swept away.
At first she's nowhere in sight. Joined with a partner, I'm unable to search for her in the sea of dancers.
Then I see her in the very center. As she spins around, she holds out her hand for me. I reach out to take it, but just as our fingers touch, again, we're swept away from each other. I smile apologetically as she dances out of sight.
I catch only a few glimpses of her. I know she's having the time of her life. Every time I see her face, it radiates with pure joy. She closes her eyes and twirls, skipping gracefully on her bare feet.
And then we collide, just as the music ends. I can feel her heart hammering against my chest. She's so close I can count the freckles dotted on her nose. Her enormous, emerald eyes gaze up at me, so innocent, yet so full of life.
And then we break apart.
