Brought to you by MouiSheep, I now present to you- Rainy days.
Disclaimer:
I can dream,yes?
Inuyasha did not like rainy days.
Since he was an inu yokai, he relied mostly on his sense of smell, much like a dog would, and the rain wiped away any trace of scent left in the area.
He was like a blood hound without a sense of smell, and he hated it. He felt completely out of his comfort zone and useless.
Keeping this in mind, he barely managed to trudge home in the sudden downpour.
By the time he made it to his house, he was- to his displeasure- completely soaked and sopping wet.
His home, however, looked especially warm and inviting, so he summoned up what was left of his broken pride and gallantly marched up the walkway. Now, charged with the task of entering his home looking like this would be a different matter altogether. Looking down at his drenched suit and the little wrapped box in his hand, he grimaced at what was to come. He was sure to get a mouthful out of this one, and he was not looking forward to it at all.
He unlocked the door as quietly as possible; hoping desperately that his human wife would not suddenly develop yokai senses out of the blue and hear him. He carefully walked inside the threshold and slipped off his shoes, his ears twitching and swiveling in jarring motions. Nothing so far; maybe he could-
"Inuyasha?"
Fuck.
He gulped and swallowed, glancing nervously down at the puddle of water that was dripping off him and forming a puddle under his feet.
"Y-yeah?"
He crept toward the stairs, worriedly glancing over at the kitchen doorway. If she just kept her back to him, he could get upstairs and slip into some dry clothes. He'd find a place to hide the suit and the present later, but right now, he had to hope she didn't turn around.
"How was your day?" He watched the back of her head move around the kitchen from the foot of the stairs; From what her could tell she was still in her nurse scrubs.
"Good."
He ascended another step, watching her movements out of the corner of his eye.
"By the way, Inuyasha-"
She turned around casually, glancing at the steaming pot of water and looking up at the stairs, where she had guessed Inuyasha was.
They stared at each other for a minute, Kagome's sentence slowing down considerably.
"I...made….you….some…ramen…"
The smile on her face dimmed radically and she set the spoon down on the counter.
Well, this was it. He guessed if he was going to leave this world happy, it might as well be by the hands of his beloved little wifey.
She could feel her rage boil up to the top of her head; How could he-
But then she spotted the wrapped box in his left hand.
"Oh, Inuyasha!"
She ran over to the stairs, knocking him down while she smothered him in kisses.
This was not what he was expecting.
"Ah-Kagome?"
She smiled radiantly, hugging him and squealing with joy.
"Aren't you...mad?"
"What?"
She pulled back looking at him with a sweet smile on her face.
"Because you got the suit I gave you for our anniversary wet?"
"Umm..."
He tried to wiggle the present under himself, and caught her eye.
"I'm just happy you didn't forget!" She sat up and hugged him, giving more kisses.
"I thought you liked surprises but-"
He smiled in defeat and pulled her into his lap.
"Happy anniversary, Kagome."
I hope you liked it!
I decided to start this little one-shot series because today was a gloomy day, and I love the rain.
So, if you have an idea of rainy weather, please let me know so I can built a chapter off of that.
Thank you so much. :)
