Peridot stared out the rain soaked window at the churning dark sea outside of the temple with a blank content expression on her face. The 'Steven' was giving all his attention to the one way communication device that allowed the humans of earth to be aware of the outside happenings of the world without actually having to leave their domains.

The Pearl had clearly expressed before she left with the amethyst and the perma-fusion that they were not to leave the house unless the situation was life and death, and that if they had to the results would be…unpleasant, so she sat curled up on the 'bay window' and stared outside into the earths repeated… 'Rain storms'… as the Steven called them.

"Hey Peridot?", Steven said interrupting my train of thought quiet annoyingly. "Are you just gonna stare out the window all day?" he asked as he was turning off the one-way communication device. Peridot stared at Steven and fully turned so she would be making eye contact with him.

"Yes, Steven I was actually fully content watching this 'Rain storm' unfurl outside of this window. Peridot replied smoothly. "But if you have and other plans that aren't likely to get me shattered or cracked or assaulted, then please comply." She finished.

Just then a large boom sounded across the room and shook the whole house making Peridot shriek and run underneath a table in fear as lighting lite up the sky and the power flickered in synch with the rumbles of thunder. "Peridot, are you still afraid of the thunder storms?" Steven asked while he laughed quietly. "N-No, I'm not afraid of your earth precipitation!" Peridot growled. "I'm just wary of my safety since you said that the electricity produced during these 'rain storms' can be damaging to my gem or my physical form." "I just wanted to make looking out for my own wellbeing"

The storm outside continued to rage and tear at the defenseless form of the beach. The electricity faltered once again and then failed all together, sending the house into complete darkness except for the eerie glow of the warp pad in front of the temple door. "Eep" Peridot cried as the lightning once again split the sky and left bright white lines dancing in their vision. Peridot shuddered underneath the table and squeezed her eyes shut and whimpered as the wind picked up outside.

"You're really scared aren't you, Peridot" Steven said with realization as he stared at the small gem underneath the table. "No I'm not!" Peridot retorted in fury as she climbed out from underneath the table. "Fine then I'll go find a flash light stay here'' Steven said as he walked off towards the 'bathroom'
