For a challenge. I'm not really happy with how this turned out, but I promised I would do this a long time ago so I'm going to post it now.

I hate fighting with Jade. I know why I have to. I know why I should, but I don't like it. I hate that I have to hurt her. Cheshire, my sister. My enemy. Jade's not evil. She does what she's told. She wouldn't hurt a fly if she wasn't hired to. And she protects me, she protects her Alice. After she left, I was strapped for cash and became 'Tigress' to make enough so I could eat, dad wasn't going to feed me. Then I found a suicase full of cash with a Cheshire cat doodled on a piece of paper attached. For all her talks about 'every girl for herself' she really does care about people. We sit down and talk occasionally… more like one of us pins the other down and we catch up during the pause in our fight. She told me about this kid named Damian. Apparently Talia Al'gul had a kid with Batman, but Bats doesn't know. She told me that she'd never seen anything quite like it. She'd never seen anything so innocent as a baby's birth. Her eyes were far away as she said that, full of regret that tore at my heart.

I hate fighting Jade, so when I saw her in a collar in the main room of the cave, Hawkgirl on one side, Batman on the other, I was shocked. I didn't know what to feel. Especially considering who was standing next to her, also clearly under arrest. My predecessor, Red Arrow, Roy Harper's clone.

Batman explained the situation to us. After Red discovered his origin and left to find Speedy, he made some stupid decisions. Such as getting addicted to heroin. He ended up becoming a criminal to cover up those decisions, the league assuming he was going to feign a side switch until he killed several people. Jade had helped him overcome his addiction. In the process they ended up dating. Jade discovered that she was pregnant. The two of them decided to surrender, because they didn't have access to medical equipment.

When I talked to Jade, the situation seemed hopeless. Even if she spills everything she knows, the best deal she's going to get is sanitary conditions until her baby is born, and then a dingy cell for life. Better than the alternatives. Better than Suicide Squad or the death penalty. It's still pretty bad. Roy's looking at 20-to-life, but he won't end up in max security. He and Jade probably won't see each other ever again, not after this. Unless they run. Then I'll have to fight Jade again. I hate fighting with Jade.

Please Review. Constructive criticism is greatly appreciated.
