The rumble was pleasant but curious. Rose shifted in the Doctor's embrace, nestled beneath his chin, her back to his front, as they lounged on the couch in the den the TARDIS provided. Convenient, if you asked the Doctor who eyed the new space shrewdly. Cozy, if you asked his companion.

"Doctor," she questioned, "what are you doing?"

He stopped; the vibrations ceasing as well. "Hm? Oh!" he fidgeted uncomfortably, scratching at the back of his shaggy head. "Humming?" He winced but she smiled encouragingly.

"I like it," she said with an air of finality, flipping around so that she rested again along the length of him. "You should sing louder."

"I don't sing," he groused at the effeminate suggestion. That didn't stop him from doing so regardless. Picking up a tendril of her silken hair, the Doctor twirled it between his fingers and vocalized the words that played at his heartstrings the moment he had let this woman enter his life.

"Oh my girl, my girl, my precious girl," his whisper flowed around her, engulfing her in the sweet timbre of his voice as she inhaled contentedly. "Just what is this man to do…"

A/N: So like most of my stories now, I wrote this piece for tumblr – or rather, wrote it on tumblr – and wanted it hear for copyright reasons. I decided I may take up a Doctor/Rose drabble collection. I'll probably continue little one shots from here. :D

And a part of me is pained that I chose Love Don't Roam, but damn it, I love that song and needed it to be for a happy reason! Not the way it was chosen on the show ;_;
