"Yuuki..."
...
Thump.
"Yuuki! Are you alright?" Yuuki slowly opened her eyes and cried out. "Yuuki! What's the matter?"
"Sorry, it's just really bright in here." Yuuki giggled. Standing over her crumpled form was none other than Yori, her roomate.
"Are you sure? You were yelling about something in your sleep and then you fell out of bed. You haven't been sleeping well lately, is something on your mind?"
"Well..." Although Yuuki and Yori both knew that Yuuki could think of noone but Kaname Kuran since as long as she could remember, she didn't want to tell Yori that she had been having dreams about him.
"Dang it! Sorry Yuuki, that'll have to wait, I'm going to be late to class if I don't hurry! You're so lucky you don't have a first period because you're a school guardian!"
As Yori ran off, Yuuki's memory flashed back to her dream, which also had to do with her guardian duties. In her dream, she had been watching out for any stray Night class students while Zero was on another part of school grounds. Yuuki was just about to swing herself down the side of a building when she saw Kaname walking towards her. She stopped mid-leap and redirected herself to stay on the building, but almost fell in the process. With lightning fast speed, Kaname came up and righted her before she could totally lose her balance and topple two stories to the ground.
"Th-thank you, Kaname-sama." Yuuki stuttered.
"Not at all my dear." She blushed profusely while he stared into her eyes. "How have you been? I'm sorry I haven't been able to come see you lately."
"Oh, well, umm, I've been fine... You really don't have to check on me though if you're too busy! I would understand! Besides I have Zero to watch out for me!" Kaname laughed gently, but quickly became serious.
"I'm never too busy to make sure that you stay unharmed Yuuki. Always remember that."
"O.K." Yuuki stuttered, blushing even more. Kaname noted how tired she looked.
"Have you been sleeping well, Yuuki?"
"Well, not really. I've been busy guarding everyone." She stood proudly as she thought about all the people she was protecting.
"You need more rest. I will talk to your father about that later, and I will make sure you can get more sleep." Yuuki started waving her hands violently and shaking her head.
" No don't do that! I have to be a good guardian! You don't need to go bother everyone; I'm fine!" Kaname took her shoulders and held her close. He smiled.
"Yuuki... You don't have to push yourself so hard. I will always be watching out for you. I will never let anything bad happen to you. I promise." He held her close for a moment and smelled her hair. She smelt just as she had when she was small, like a mix of basil and cinnamon from all the cooking she loved to do with mom.
Yuuki felt unsure about what to do, so she decided to just stand there and let Kaname hold her close. She loved being near him, smelling his fancy cologne, feeling his shaped chest pressed up against her. She wanted nothing more than to stand with him like this forever. When he pulled her away, they both looked into each others eyes, and then looked at each other's lips. They stood for another moment before they both leaned in and kissed. It was a passionate, fiery kiss. He had ached for her embrace for years, just as she had ached for his. Together they kissed, for so long they resembled a beautiful statue made from the moonlight, that is until Yuuki woke up on her bedroom floor.
She was sure it had happened. It had felt so real! How could it not have happened? But how could something that magical have really come true? She stared out the window and thought.

On the other side of the school, Kaname thought of the night before. He placed his hand on the window.
"Yuuki..."
