Disclaimer: I do not own Artemis fowl. Heck, I don't even own my clock. Do own the poem.
CHAPTER 1
In my head I'm crazy, yet sane,
I'm blind but can see,
And deaf to those in need
To those I love, I am lost
Those I hate, forever gone
And the one the most, small and frail
I only love without detail
I look into to those messed up eyes
Part of me, forever
Why go on? When there is no chance?
Let them be hurt more from my actions?
But no, she won't have to keep my burden.
For I am forever silent.
As Holly read the crumpled poem, she looked up to see Artemis gone. He was hiding in the corner farthest from her in the room.
"Now you know. Happy now Holly! That's why THIS happened" Artemis said, motioning to himself. He got up, and slid into his bed. Holly stood there, shocked. She got up, went to the bed, and sat next to him.
"Why, why didn't you just tell me?" She stumbled.
"You don't get it do you? What do you think Orion is always blabbering about?"
"B-But you said he was gone. Y-you lied? Why?"
"Because I accepted it. But he can get control…" He stuttered.
"WHY DIDN'T YOU GET IT?" He screamed. He pulled out a small knife. His hands covered in small cuts.
"Artemis? What are you-?" He stabbed his stomach. "NO! STOP!" She wrestled with him for the knife.
"NO! I DON'T WANT LIFE!" He screamed in pain, and she took the knife. She held him down. "WHY DO YOU EVEN CARE?" He yelled again.
"Because. B-because I can't lose you. I get it. I do care. You didn't give me the chance." She moved close to his face. He didn't notice that she was healing him. She kissed him. Softly and long. They both gasped. Artemis hugged her, and she kissed him again. Then trouble walked in. Literally Commander Kelp walked through the door.
"Holly your time it u-up." Trouble said, staring at her with eyes of betrayal. "Captain! You must go!" He growled. Obviously seeing them.
"Tomorrow" Holly whispered in Artemis's ear. He nodded. Trouble pulled Holly out of the room.
"What was that back there?" Trouble said, with no tone.
"Me, and Artemis." She stated angrily. "And before you say anything, I don't care about a word you say. I don't care if you banish me to hell."
"Holly. Do you know what would happen to you!? Haven would rebel! You should go to the surface! At least, for now. Be an on the spot recon captain."
"W-What? W-why are you being so nice?" She questioned.
"Because I made a promise. Let's just say an old commander made me. And how about I don't make him turn in his grave." He smiled shortly. Root? He saw threw me by a mile, even though death. Wow. Thank you Commander.
