Chapter One
The predator
Thunder roared and rain hurled down. The wind blew heavily, causing branches to move along. Animals scurried along, taking cover from the rain. A boy rain with a rifle strapped to his back, and a knife in his hand. He was running from a predator. But this predator, wasn't a beast, it was a man. A hood covered his eyes, a pistol in his hands as he chased his fleeing prey. The boys coat was soaked, causing the hood to block his vision, he wasn't sure about his pursuer. 'God damn, what the hell is with this guy?' He thought as he pushed past tree branches. His pursuer, took higher ground. The boy looked up to see the hooded figure leap from the trees, like a panther.
The boy panted heavily as he continued to run through the forest. Vaulting over a log that laid in his way. Seeing creatures run from the thunder, and the fleeing boy. Boulders, and trees became more of a problem as he continued forward through the dense forest. The boy turned his head to see that his predator was right on top of him. The pistol was still in his hands, but he knew the powder was useless in conditions like this. 'If he thinks it's going to fire, than he's more of a fool than ever!' He thought as he hurled himself over another log. 'Ive seen smarter hunters with more brains!'
He looked forward once again, but to find a branch in his way. He was too late to push it aside, he stuck up his arms in defense of natures tools. The boy found himself stumbling, he gave his hunter a chance to end him! He turned toward his purser, who leapt from the tree, hand extended. The boy wasn't sure why his hand was extended, but he didn't want to know. As his enemy came down, the boy held his knife firmly. The mans hand struck the boys cheeks, causing it to bleed, but as for the boy, his weapon caused much more damage. He and the boy fell onto the muddied earth, his vision became blurry, the clouds, the forest, soon became to warp into the darkness, leaving nothing.
