Just a short poem I wrote for no particular reason. I thought it might be fun to post some of my old work. Feel free to use it in school projects or claim that you wrote it. To be honest, I don't really care about what you do with this poem, but it's out there.
Pirates
Pirates are like flying birds,
High above the sea.
They spend their days roaming around,
Just to feel free.
To some they might be heroes,
But often they are villains,
Pillaging ships and villages,
Killing by the millions.
The sound of cannons echo out,
A shot across the bow.
They fight to live another day,
With sweat upon their brow.
Life is never easy but,
Aye, they're treasured times, it's true.
Sailing with mates, adventure waits,
On the plains of blue.
Flash of green in the sky,
When the sun's glow is done,
They laugh with good heart,
While sharing the rum.
But sometimes they receive it,
A call from Davy Jones.
A call that must be answered,
While below the Kraken moans.
Freedom is their greatest treasure,
But failure to defend,
Means a short drop and sudden stop,
Awaits them at the end.
