Gojyo and Hakkai are at temple, visiting Goku and Sanzo.
Right now, Sanzo is in the office stamping documents, Hakkai is in the kitchen helping the cooks to prepare the foods for their group while Goku is eating the peaches that should be the offerings to the Merciful Goddess.
That leaves Gojyo alone not having to do anything except smoking lazily.
As he inhales and outhales the smokes, suddenly an idea pops into his head. A plan to provoke the little Goku to cry.
He plans it just as lazy as he is smoking before he walks towards the tree and calls the saru down. Goku jumps from the tree and looks at the hanyou, "What is it Gojyo?"
Gojyo grins cheekily as he says, "Goku, do you know that today is Sanzo's birthday? Did you get something for him?"
Goku looks at the hanyou confusedly, "Ber- what? Is that food? Can I eat it?" Gojyo snickers, his plan is running smoothly.
"What?" he makes a shocked face as he looks at the slightly frightened saru, "you don't know about Sanzo's birthday? Then that means you don't buy anything for him?"
Goku's eyes water making the hanyou grins more evilly. "Wh-why? Gojyo, tell me what that ber-something is. What will happen if I buy nothing for Sanzo?"
Gojyo is almost bursting out laughing for his successfulness on the prank but he manages to suppress it. Besides, this is the climax of his plan.
He starts telling what a birthday it and how a person loves his birthday and so is Sanzo. "I think you'll be… you know, shot by Sanzo since you didn't buy him anything," says Gojyo.
Goku stiffens. Gojyo fakes a sad face as he finishes, "I'm sorry, Goku. It's nice to meet you anyway," and walks away from the water eyed saru.
Goku stays on his spot as he thinks and judges his irr-irresponsible action or that's what the hanyou said if he remembers right.
Suddenly, he decides that Sanzo probably is super mad at him right now, the monk might be preparing the shoreiju to shoot him later.
He sobs as he walks to Sanzo's office, ignoring the disgusted and victorious looks the monks around him direct at him.
But, as soon as he walks into Sanzo's office and looks at the annoyed look of the blonde, he cries his heart out as he runs towards the perplexed monk and hugs him firmly.
He cries, "I'm so sorry Sanzo for forgetting your ber-whatever. I don't know what it is and Gojyo just tells me before and he said that you'll shoot me because I don't buy anything for you. I'm sorry, Sanzo, I'm sorry. Please don't kill me, Sanzo. I promise I'll behave more in the future."
Sanzo pinches his nose bridge as he hears the saru spouts nonsense without stopping for a breathe.
He doesn't really catch what the hell the bakasaru is saying but he manages to hear Gojyo being mentioned in it and that's already saying everything.
He sighs as he looks down at the sobbing saru, looking so scared and saddened at the fact that he'll be killed just because of some stupid nothing about birthday.
"Stop already! I won't kill you, damnit! Gojyo lied to you. Damn, you're so stupid, bakasaru," says Sanzo as he entangles himself from the saru.
Goku looks hopingly at the blonde, "R-really? Thanks, Sanzo. I'd really like to stay with you longer." Sanzo feels a warmth blooms in him as he hears the pure hope of the chibisaru.
"Let's go. I think we need to punish a certain perverted cockroach," says Sanzo as he prepares his shoreiju and ruffles the saru's hair.
Goku grins and bounces on his heel as he follows the blonde.
That evening is spent on the mission of torturing Gojyo, including Hakkai who is greatly displeased at the action of the hanyou when he is told by a solemn Goku.
