They were destined to be rivals,
Destined to resent each other.
They were heaven and earth,
And he could only watch her from afar.
She was an admirable lass,
A refined and educated one.
She was bestowed with the heart of a lion,
And the mind of an eagle.
He was a classy and wealthy lad,
Who deems himself superior above all.
What he desires, he gets,
Yet love was foreign to him,
For he has a heart of steel
And the wit of a serpent.
But this particular lass,
Melted his heart of steel.
So now, love was not foreign to
Him anymore.
But alas, Life is complex,
So he can never pursue her,
For forbidden, his love is,
It was an unspoken law,
For oil and water can never ever mix.
So he just watched her live life
From afar,
He observed her happiness,
The happiness he can never give.
If only she felt the same, too.
But alas, life is complex.
So, to cover up the pain,
He continued his expected resent
Towards her.
He insulted her, and degraded her in
Every way possible,
Yet he knows, this can never make it
Better.
She was courageous and bold
In front of him,
But behind that defensive exterior,
Was an aching heart.
She too, loved him for so long,
But she knew that they were
Destined to be apart.
They continued their act,
Oblivious to each other's feelings.
They can never be, for she,
A maiden of the light,
While he, a knight of the dark.
Even in slumber,
She haunts his dreams.
He wanted to finish this charade,
This dangerous game of hearts.
For it was breaking his once-steel heart.
And so he thought of a way,
The only way...
The blade glistened in the moonlit room,
Its razor edge, pleading for the taste of flesh.
He thought of her one last time,
And as the blade touched his pale white skin,
The blood red liquid dripped on the stone cold floor.
He was certain that this too, was the color of her blood.
Not mud, as he was raised to believe,
but a deep crimson red.
She did not know what caused her to go there,
But she had an inkling that something was wrong.
Time was ticking, and blood was dripping.
At last, she arrived at her destination,
And his pale body she saw.
She checked for a pulse, it was fading.
But there was a ray of hope.
As long as there is a small beat,
She will never lose hope.
When he was in secure hands,
She read a note,
A note written in blood.
She clutched the note,
Her tears fell.
'To the lass who melted
my heart of steel,
you possess my heart
and so, I find no use for it anymore...'
How could he accuse her of taking his heart?
If only he knew, he possessed hers too...
And what happens when he wakes up?
She never knows...
For only time can tell.
Shall they resume their act?
Or will they take the risk?
She still knows not,
For tomorrow is uncertain,
But for now, only the present
Matters...
