New Year, No Fear
(A/N I know it may already be January in some places, but it's still 7:06PM here, so I'm not late or anything. Oh, and I'm not sure if everyone outside of America will understand this, but they drop a huge metal ball at midnight on New Years, I just watch it on TV usually.)
Percy
4:00 PM
"Percy," Annabeth said. "We don't have to go see the ball drop. We can go to your mom's apartment and watch on TV."
"But it's more fun to see it in person," I argue.
"But…"
"Come on, Annabeth. Please?" I beg.
She rolls her eyes. "Fine."
"Yes!"
"I hate the huge crowd though."
"Why don't we avoid the crowd?"
"That's not possible." She seemed alarmed. "Percy, what in Zeus' name are you thinking?"
11:57 PM
"Perseus Jackson," Annabeth said. "You actually had a good idea for once."
"Yeah," Blackjack said. "But it'd be better if we got some donuts."
I had had the idea to watch the ball drop by flying above it on Blackjack.
"I guess you'll have to stop calling me Seaweed Brain."
"Not a chance, Seaweed Brain."
11:58 PM
"Boss, can we please get some donuts?"
"Later."
"Please."
11:59 PM
"Percy," Annabeth said. "So much happened this year. It's all going to end."
"This year I promise to not get amnesia."
"Seaweed Brain!"
12:00 AM
"A New Year," Annabeth said. "With no fear."
"Happy New Year, Annabeth."
And with that, I got my first New Year's kiss.
(A/N Sweet… Happy New Year to all. Even if it's already January where you are. You guys rock!)
