Author's Note: Crappy bonding twins one-shot written for MellaTheKnightmare. This may or may not have been influence by the Twilight Zone. Because it's the New Year's marathon on Syfy and I am devoting yet another year to watching every episode. Cause like, seriously. The Twilight Zone is my most favorite thing ever x)
Oh yeah, if this like sucks too hard, dude, you know the drill. Just lemme know if there's a way I can fix it and whatnot.
Alexy stared at the sword in his brother's possession, cerise orbs tracing every golden sawtooth serration. It was twice as broad as Alexy's own pitiful steel blade, and looked as fatal as a shark to a goldfish.
"You still want to challenge me, Alex?" Armin smirked, eyes flashing triumphantly.
"You bet." Alexy tensed up, readjusting his grip. His palms were sweating and he was genuinely surprised that things had gotten this far. In the past, he never ever would have imagined wanting his brother killed, no— destroyed so badly.
"This is your last chance to back off," Armin warned. "I won't go easy on you just because we're blood."
"Quit stalling and come at me then! Or maybe you're not as badass as you think you are!" Alexy readied himself to dodge.
Armin attacked almost too fast to be followed with the human eye, sword slashing and sapphire pools narrowed to dangerous slits.
Alexy gasped and evaded him at the last second. He rapidly wheeled and sliced his own weapon at his fleeting opposition.
Armin darted away with expert ease and retaliated violently. Before Alexy had time to avoid, Armin impaled him right to quick, right to the blade's hilt. He gripped the handle with both hands and thrusted the weapon up, flinging his brother right off the sword. Alexy rolled with the fall and sprung up to a stand, adrenaline pumping and energy rocketing through his veins.
He was heavily damaged and his stamina was waning, but Alexy wasn't done for just yet. He charged Armin head on, intaking a sharp breath as he swung the sword back. He knew he didn't have enough life left for another go at it, so this had to be his finishing move. One swift, deliberate decapitation.
Alas, his noble attempt ended in failure. Armin dropped low and the blade missed him by a hairsbreadth. He simultaneously executed a keen attack of his own. Metal flashed and then boom, Alexy was done for. Armin shaved him in half with one virtuosic flick of his blade.
Armin grinned and fist-pumped gleefully. "Hah! I told you weren't up to the challenge!"
Alexy frowned and dropped the video game controller, pouting at the image of his slaughtered avatar. "You don't have to gloat about it."
"D'aww, don't be a sore loser." Armin set his controller aside and happily slapped his brother on the back. "You're brave just for fighting me, you know? Because it was like a suicide mission from the start. I'm just way too experienced for you."
"That just proves that you play these things way too much," Alexy replied. "You're gonna rot your brains."
"Oh, brains! That reminds me, there's a new zombie game out at Microgames! Thanks for the reminder, Alexy!" Armin seized Alexy around the neck with one arm and merrily ruffled his hair. Before Alexy could fight his way out of the wayward embrace, Armin dumped him back on the carpet, snatched his wallet off the table with catlike reflexes, and then raced out the door.
