The Doctor gazed at Rose from across the console, his face illuminated like a Christmas tree. Words tumbled out of his mouth before he could stop them, "Will you stay?"

Rose didn't reply. Her eyes were scanning the new skin of his spaceship. It wasn't like the old one she called home. Something new had taken its place, it sparkled and blazed like the sun. She felt giddy as if she was a schoolgirl again, being asked on a date for the first time. She so badly wanted to run her hands across every multi-color button, dissect the new contraptions that had replaced the old.

"Why do you have to ask?" Rose finally said.

The Doctor ran his hands through his long, floppy hair. He avoided crossing the console, fear wrapping around his mind at the thought of facing her head on. He paced on his side of the room, like an invisible wall was between them.

"You know, new new Doctor," he began. And then the rambling started. "Actually its more like new new, new new new new new, new new Doctor, to be precise."

A laugh escaped Rose's lips. The Doctor's head popped up at the noise, blush bubbling across his cheeks. She smiled warmly up at him, "With a new new TARDIS…"

"Well…it'd actually be new new new…"

More laugher filled the room, drowning out the Doctor's voice. He tried to speak up again but the words died in his throat. His hearts were beating up against his chest, he felt sick. He hid his face behind the large screen attached to the console, hoping that she would not see him so hopelessly lost for words.

"Hello you."

The Doctor jumped, his state of embarrassment broken. Rose was standing on his side of the console, waving up at him. He turned to meet her, staring into her bright blue eyes.

He had always loved those eyes.

Courage took hold of Rose and she grasped the Doctor's hand in her own. It was larger then his pervious ones, thicker and warmer, like he was boiling up inside. It made her shiver. She placed her other hand over the top of their intertwined ones and began to talk. "I've seen things people couldn't imagine. Things that would have them running for the hills…"

Rose felt the hand between her's tighten. She sighed into the grip and met the Doctor's stare. Her voice was no more than a whisper but it rung around the TARDIS like she was using a megaphone.

"I've traveled with a man who could change his face. A bit mad of you ask me but you know what?"

"Yes, Rose Tyler?" The Doctor said breathlessly.

"I think that's the fun of it all."

The Doctor's eyes lit up. All of the sudden Rose was being lifted up into the air and the new console was a blur of bright yellows and flaming reds.
