"Philip!" The shrieking cry came from downstairs. Baby John rolled his eyes. His mother could be so….annoying. Of course he'd never say that to her face. She'd probably cry.
"Comin' Ma!" He answered. Quickly he stowed his art book beneath his bed and ran to answer the call of his mother.
"Philip, you're friend is here." She said, her nasally voice filling the small kitchen. Baby John grabbed his jacket and ran out the door, pushing A-Rab along.
"What's-a matta Philip?" A-Rab joked. Baby John punched his shoulder.
"If you mention any of what just happened to the boys, I swear, I'll kill you." Baby John snarled. A-Rab held up his hands to show that he didn't mean to do anything of the like. Baby John relaxed. "Jeez, I'm sorry, A-Rab. It's just that I'm awful touchy about my motha'. She's a real embarrassment."
A-Rab nodded. Even though he really didn't understand what it was like. His mother had died while giving birth to him. And his father, well, he just didn't like him. Up ahead the two saw Action running toward them. Behind him was a police car and a couple-a guys on foot.
"Action!" A familiar voice shouted. Schrank came from behind A-Rab and Baby John. He caught Action and held him until the others had caught up. All together they kept him from escaping and were able to get him into the police car. Once the cars were driving away, Baby John and A-Rab ran up to Schrank.
"Hey, what gives?" A-Rab asked. Schrank looked at him, a smile in his eyes.
"You're buddy, there, he just knocked off one of the local police." He said. Baby John's mouth fell open.
"You sure?" He asked. He just couldn't believe it. Action? He knew that Action was, well, Action, but he wouldn't really do something like…kill someone would he?
"As sure as you're standing there." Schrank responded, then turned to walk away. The boys looked at each other and shared a silent message. They had to tell Ice!
Schrank, on the other hand, was headed across town. He had some business to attend to concerning A certain boy named James Murdoh. A.K.A. The ex-leader of the Jets.
