Thirst.
All I could think about was thirst.
It was unbearably, agonizingly painful to the point of every cliche.
No water. Not a single dro of water in all of WindClan.
The sight of Crowpaw bringing in a pathetically skinny rabbit made my mouth water-well, if it could anyway.
It's for the elders I tell myself. The elders, not you.
Suddenly, I collapsed. my legs fell straight out from under me.
The next thing i could remember, I was in the much cooler shade of the Medicine Cats' den.
But it wasn't enough. My brother, Crowpaw sat with me. "Milkypaw," he whispered. "It'll be okay."
He didn't mean to lie. He didn't know himself.
I find my place in the stars now.
A/N: Sorry it's so terrible. The original is much better I assure you. This is dedicated to Milkyway. she was my first experience with losing someone I loved, and she has made me stronger. Milkyway died of heatstroke a few summers back. she is buried in my backyard, under a tree. I thought it would make sense to have this story during the drought in windclan (Midnight) and i REALLY did NOT want Crowpaw to have ANOTHER mate, but there was instantly a connection between them in my mind, so I made them littermates. Yes, she was dark gray (with gold.)
