BENEFICIAL
Author: donnatellaMarks
Summary: 'Friends with benefits' are rarely beneficial. Ray and Lily. Second person, because it's fun to write in.
Timeline: Somewhere in the future. I haven't been paying attention to RFR lately, so let's just say Season One spoilers.
Disclaimer: [insert witty disclaimer here] Not mine.
Dedication: Again, to Em, or mistress of the universe if that works for you. To all her repressed flamers that make our lives more enjoyable by laughing over them.
And so it begins…
***
You don't know how it started.
You just know that it did.
The memories blur together in flashes of color and a whirlwind of emotion.
Just keep touching.
It's the only thing keeping you sane.
*
No feelings involved, you both say.
Because saying it makes it easier to believe.
*
You want this.
Very much.
You don't know when you realized this was more than you both made it out be.
You just know that you did.
*
He pushes you into the wall, hands roaming freely; traveling familiar paths of flesh.
He knows you.
The birthmark on your shoulder, the scar on your thigh from when you were five and thought you were a champion roller blader.
The curve of your hip.
He touches you the way you know he knows you like it.
You arch into him, and your senses fall away.
*
You pick up your clothes.
He picks up his and groans when one of his socks is missing.
You find it eventually, nestled beneath your books.
You hand it to him, and your eyes meet. You quickly turn away.
Because you never could look at him afterwards.
*
He's never said anything.
You've always been extremely grateful. You know what Robbie would say; Travis.
It's unhealthy.
It's not right.
You can't do this.
It will ruin your friendship.
Well, screw them.
You're past the point of caring.
*
He brushes a kiss to your cheek and turns away, walking out.
You fall back onto the bed with a sigh, feeling dirty, used…broken.
*
You promise yourself to stop this.
The next time you see him.
You're telling him.
Never again.
No.
Never again.
*
But empty promises never keep.

A/N- Review sundevil009@yahoo.com.
It's meant to be chaotic and bleak. Did I pull it off?
A/N 2 - Please excuse the annoying little stars between stanzas. I've been trying to upload this fic correctly for days, but FF.net seems to be against me. This was the only way I could figure out how to do it!
Reviewing is good for the soul.
