Just another quickie on Robin and Ishiah's 'relationship' I can't seem to resist them at the moment.

Ishiah and Robin's relationship was not complicated contrary to what everyone believed.

Because, and it was just a simple fact, they didn't have one.

It was the only thing either of them agreed on.

Ever.

There sure as hell was nothing remotely 'romantic' going on between either of them at all. There was no cute, no cuddly, and definitely no sappy love lost between them. In fact both of them would probably be better off if the other fell of the face of the planet to never resurface again.

While definitely relationship-less they had other things. Sharp words, snaps, and digs that usually led to arguments, nasty gestures that usually ended in fights that left them both bloody and most definitely hurt feelings that neither would ever admit. The fact that they always ended up bare in each other's arms when it was all said and done didn't mean anything. It was just the natural outcome of a war. Men always wanted to unwind after a battle, and considering it was their own it made the situation perfect. Just because theirs had been going on for centuries didn't make it any different.

There was certainly no 'love making' when they got together. In fact, it was always a battle in itself. It started with a scrum to see who got on top with a constant struggle to see who kept it. Teeth and hands turned into weapons as curses mixed with better sounds filled the room as they wrestled with each other in the constant mêlée to prove who was better, who was stronger. From the bed to the floor and sometimes even the wall, they would fight. The reward was being the first to make the other give that tell tale hiss which would inevitably be met with the pleased laugh of the victor. Neither would call their outings 'special'. There was nothing intimate about the whole thing at all. It didn't matter to either of them. It didn't mean anything.

That when they hissed, groaned, whispered, gasped, screamed, the other's name to the ceiling, it sounded no different than the countless other arguments they'd had over the centuries. There was certainly no inflection there. Nothing that reminded either of them of the softest caress in the most intimate places they had. It didn't make either of their hearts catch in their chest.

When it was over and they were sticky from sweat and other things, Robin's head only landed on Ishiah's chest because he was too lazy to move. Ishiah's arm only wrapped around Robin's waist because it was comfortable. When Robin traced the lines of thousands of scars picked up over the years it was for his own personal interest. Ishiah's fingers only slid through the lightly curling hair because he knew when Robin realized it was mussed he'd be annoyed. They both fell asleep curled around each other because if they were lucky, one would let their guard down and they could start the battle all over again. The fact that they usually slept till well after dawn, and rising was always so damnably hard was just a testament of how hard they'd worked to get what they wanted the previous night. It had nothing to do with the fact that when their legs were intertwined and their breaths mixed they felt at peace.

Leaving was always easy. The battle would start again tomorrow, or the next day or the day after that.

No Ishiah and Robin didn't have a relationship.

On that, they both agreed.
