(A/N: I read a book a while ago called "Rules," which has a character in a wheelchair. There's a scene similar to this one in that book that inspired this story. Enjoy!)

Running

"Boq?"

"Yes, Nessa?"

"What's it like to…to run?" Nessa's eyes were wide with curiosity and eagerness. She leaned forward, waiting to hear Boq's answer.

Boq opened his mouth, then closed it and frowned. How did you describe running to someone? He wasn't sure it was possible. He shrugged and smiled sheepishly. "I can't explain it, Nessa. But maybe if I push your chair while running, it will give you an idea of what it's like."

Nessa grinned. "I'd love that."

It took them a while to find an area with no bumps or dents for Nessa's chair to get caught on, but after a lot of searching, they found one that seemed to be just waiting for them.

"Are you ready?" Boq asked.

"Yes," answered Nessa.

Boq ran as fast as he could while Nessa gripped her chair with all of her strength, her hair blowing behind her and her eyes full of excitement.

"Well," Boq said after they slowed down and stopped. "What did you think?"

"It was amazing. Thank you, Boq."
