AN: I don't own X-men evolution even though I wish I did.
Kurt Wagner walked up the stairs with Kitty after the older students had watched a movie. Kurt heard a distressed sound coming from Mr. McCoy's study and stopped. "You go ahead Kitty. I have a question for Beast"
"K goodnight Kurt," replied Kitty as she walked down the hall
"Um Mr. McCoy can I come in," Kurt asked as he knocked on the door.
"Oh um sure Kurt come on in," replied Hank as he paced back in forth in front of his window. Kurt sat in a chair across from Beast and started to play with his blue spaded tail in order to avoid any eye contact.
"Vell, I hear some noises and I vanted to make sure that everything vas vine."
"I guess you would understand. Our conditions being so similar. I can't stand being the way I am. I 'm not human and I am not an animal. I am a freak." Beast sighed and dropped into his chair. Kurt continued playing with his tail, embarrassed that he had caught his teacher in a vulnerable state.
"Kitty said that you vere veeling down about your mutation."
"It's just hard. I don't fit in with anybody or anything."
"That's not true. We both got the best of the best. Sure ve look a little veird and some people vill never except us. Some people vant us dead and we can't go out in public naturally."
"Kurt your point is," sighed Beast, "You're not exactly helping."
"Oh ja ja vell I velt avful kind of like you, but then Kitty said something to me. She said, 'It must be great to have the abilities of a cat.' This got me zinking. I have the brains of a human. I am human by every sense of the vord. I can valk on two feet, but I can valk on four as vell. I can do amazing feats that other people vould kill for. I am as graceful as a cat, but as smart as a human. So you see ve got the best of both vorlds. The brains of a human and the skillz of an animal. So what if ve look a little different. Ve can do things that others can only dream about." Kurt looked uncomfortable after his speech and started picking at his fingernails. Since it was Kurt and with his lack of digits it didn't last long
"You know what you're right. We are special and are real friends like us despite our looks. Thank you Kurt." Kurt looked relieved that Mr. McCoy was not mad at him.
"Your velcome. Vell good night Mr. McCoy."
"Good night Kurt." Kurt got up and bamfed out of the room. Beast waved away the smell of sulfur and brimstone and smiled. He looked out the window at the sky and saw the things that only his animal eyes could see.
