There were some things he could never understand. Even after 25 years of life, he still couldn't comprehend why pain existed. And know more than ever, he longer for the answer. The people here, he couldn't understand. He understood one thing though they all were hurting. Some more than others, but the pain was real. If it was physical pain, he would've been able to fix it but this was different. There was one more other things he wondered. How had it become that they had all ended up here, together. Was it just by chance? He hardly thought so. There was something weird about this island, something know one but John Locke dared to even mention.
Perhaps it was by fate that they had ended up here. For years he had longed for the chance to start his life over, he would have done things different, but now that he was here, he was thankful for the choices he had made. Were the others thankful, he didn't know, but he knew they were here now and there was nothing they could do. Sure they could try to send out a mayday call, and they still did, but slowly their hopes of being rescued faded like the waves of the ocean he had been staring at for so many days. He couldn't remember how long they had been there now, he wasn't sure any one could, or if anyone was even bothering to try.
Slowly the man sat down on the sandy beach. Wondering. That's all he ever did anymore, other than searching. He let out a sigh, as he looked up to the starry sky. There were many things he didn't know, some he didn't want to. If he knew one thing though, he was thankful for the chance he had to start over.
