Sleepy Hollow
Ichabod studied his surroundings. His breathing was still unsteady and his legs were shaking. He had never been so terrified in his life. Have I lost him? He thought, Am I safe? There wasn't anything. Just a forest shrouded in a thick mist. Ichabod sighed and lent on the tree behind him.
SNAP!
Ichabod stood straight and looked around again. There was nothing, yet he heard footsteps and swishing. He didn't want to, but he slowly turned. There, stood right in front of him, was the headless horseman; his sharpened axe in his hand. Ichabod became paralysed with fear as he watched the horseman slowly raise the axe. The axe was now coming down fast. The axe glinted as it came to a halt The horseman moved the axe away from Ichabod. He turned as if to make for his trusty steed. As quick as flash, Ichabod felt something hit him in the stomach area. He looked down. There he saw the knife and the blood. His body filled with adrenaline and he pulled the knife out. He dropped it and fell to his knees. He saw the blood, and he thought that he was going to die.
Ichabod sat up in bed. His breathing uneven and his face grim. He went to get out of bed, but he had a sudden sharp pain. It felt like a big guy punching him hard in the stomach at full velocity. Ichabod put his hand where the pain was. It was warm. When he moved his hand, he looked at it in shock. It was covered in blood. At least he knew how to use a cell phone. He grabbed the phone off the bedside table and called Abbie.
"Pick up the phone." Ichabod said.
"Lieutenant Mills."
"Mills, I need you to come to my apartment. It's a matter of urgency."
"On my way." She hung up. Ichabod layed back down. The pain slowly becoming to much to bare. His breathing worsened and the bleeding wouldn't stop. His vision became blurry and dark. He tried not to close his eyes but they grew too heavy. His eyes slowly closed.
