Race, long since used to getting ready for the day in the darkness of the master bedroom, let out a quiet sigh as he loaded his pistol. One the weapon was ready to go, he slid it into the holster at the small of his back. He had a few minutes before he had to head out to I-One headquarters for the final briefing before the mission. This one would take him to somewhere in Indonesia, he wasn't quite sure where just yet.

His ice blue eyes flicked over to the clock, the red numbers reading 4:46. Yes, it was quite early. He'd be gone before either Estella or Jessie woke. He walked around the bed and leaned down to press a kiss to his wife's cheek. Estella stirred, as she typically did in the mornings, her emerald eyes blinking open just enough to look up at him, "You're leaving?" She mumbled still not fully awake.

"Yeah, in a few minutes." Race answered.

Estella leaned up to wrap her arms around his neck, "Come home safe." She whispered in his ear. "I love you."

"I love you too, Estella." Race answered before kissing her once more. He stayed just a moment longer, to watch as she slipped back into sleep. He left their room and walked down the hall to Jessie's room. He opened the door and entered quietly to avoid waking the four-year-old.

The red-head was sprawled across her bed, the blanket all but sliding off. Race shook his head with an amused smile. He picked up the blanket and tucked it around his daughter. Then he leaned down and pressed a kiss to her forehead. "I love you Jessie," He murmured though he knew she wouldn't hear him.

A few moments later he was leaving the house, silently vowing that he would make it back home from this mission alive.
