"I don't see why we have to go through all this trouble for one lousy demon! One that Diaper Breath can't even track!" A loud thud silenced the crowd that moved past them, halting them in their place as they stared wide eyed at the boy who dented a mailbox.

"Uh Yusuke, maybe taking your anger out on an innocent mailbox isn't the way to go." A gentle hand rested on the angry delinquent's shoulder. "How about we continue on our mission and hopefully you can take your anger on the demon." He whispered the last part to his teammate, laughing nervously as he waved away the passerby's that stopped to watch the commotion.

"Yeah Urameshi, let's just continue on our mission. And when we get there you can throw this bitch fit at the demon's face and maybe once you're done you can finally stand up to Kieko." A scratchy laugh followed, causing the delinquent quite pissed.

Said delinquent threw a punch at the one who spoke, only to miss his target since he moved to the side to avoid the punch. The two continued to squabble, one throwing punches while the other dodged them, and soon the two took off down the street, leaving their other two friends behind.

The taller of the two watched as his friends were weaving through the crowd, avoiding the people who stood in their way.

"What's the matter fox? Afraid another mailbox will suffer the detective's wrath?"

"No, that's not it, call it a hunch but I feel as if though something bad is going to happen."

"A premonition Fox?"

"Something like that..."

"You ugly dumbass! Get your ass back here so I can shove my foot in it!"

"Nuh uh Urameshi you're gonna have to catch me for that to happen!" Laughing, he continue to dodge the punches his rival threw at him.

As the dodging continued, it was starting to royally piss off the delinquent detective as his vision was turning red. Getting sick of missing his target, he poured his spiritual energy into his fist, sure of himself that he wasn't going to miss this punch.

Bellowing with rage, his vision tunneled as he let his punch loose, his aim true but unfortunately for him, he didn't count on the carrot top dodging his punch.

His anger and frustration disappearing completely as he panicked unable to stop his punch from landing, at the other end of the punch was a girl no older than him, who turned his way and had a look of surprise on her face at the appendage heading her way. Much to his relief, she brought her school bag up to absorb most of the impact so she wouldn't be hurt but couldn't stop the force behind it, which sent her flying backwards.

Landing hard on the pavement knocked the wind out of her, leaving her dazed and unable to see the oncoming vehicle headed her way.

"Miss look out!" The carrot top yelled, unable to save her in time.

The girl was slowly coming out of her daze, enough to see the vehicle headed her way. Knowing she couldn't move or even stop the vehicle.

A blur flitted past them all, stopping near the girl long enough to pick her up and move her out of the path and to the safety of the sidewalk.

The girl clutched desperately to the cloak of her hero, afraid if she let go she would be back in the middle of traffic.

"Onna, you can let go now…"

Opening her eyes, peaking around shyly before slowly looking up to identify her hero, a kind and apologetic smile gracing her face.

"Forgive me, I hope it wasn't too much of a burden to save me?"

The Dark Flame wielder stared at her, trying to figure out why she would be apologizing for have her life saved.

"Hn." Was his only reply.

She released herself from him and stood, stepping away so she could bow in gratitude to him all while keeping a smile on her face.

"Miss?"

Looking to the side she found two boys bowing to her, guilt written across their face as they continuously apologized to her. She stopped and waved off their apology, reassuring them with a smile as she looked up at them.

"Please, you both are fine, if anyone's at fault it should be me, I heard the ruckus before it even came near me. I would've been able to avoid the punch all together had I been paying attention." She returned their bow, giggling softly.

But her smile and calm disappeared immediately, she became flustered quickly, hastily bowing to them and giving her goodbyes before taking off.

She ran as fast as her legs could carry her, her breath coming in short breaths as the demonic energy she felt wasn't alone, it was dangerously near an innocent human, the demons' intent hung heavy in its energy. Weaving through the crowd that stood in her way, hoping she got in there in time to stop the demon.

Following the energy, it led her to the park, her eyes scanning the area for the demon and the human that was its target.

'There!'

She found the demon, it was heading into the alleyway, clutching a fear ridden girl in its scaly hand, the girl kicked and scratched at the demon, trying her best to get away.

She bolted after them, trying her best to dodge the people that placed themselves in her way as they enjoyed a day in the park. As she finally reached the entrance to the alleyway, she found that the demon had knocked the girl unconscious, something she was grateful for.

"Demon! Put the girl down and get your filthy being away from her!"

The demon guffawed, its voice deep and scratchy, making her cringe a bit.

"And what can a puny girl like yourself do to stop me?" The demon continued to laugh at her, but cut short as her punch connected with its face, the spirit energy she laced her punch with had sent it flying.

Dropping her bag, she followed after the demon as she pulled a talisman out from her pocket, channeling her spirit energy into it.

"Evil Spirit! Disperse!" Throwing the talisman, it landed right in the middle of its forehead, covering the demon in flames as it began to scream in agony.

"How!? How can you defeat me?! How when you can't even see me!?" Screeching with pain, it writhed on the floor, trying to stop the flame from taking its life.

"Because your aura showed me where you are." Was all she said as she bent to pick her bag up, walking out of the alleyway, leaving the demon to burn.
