Ayano Sugiura's life had vastly changed and improved, since middle school. As a young adult, she was no longer Vice-President of the Student Council, but she had accomplished a few things, that were more impressive and important. First off, she had gotten a job, as the leading secretary, for Mr. Priceless, an eccentric businessman, who collected eggs. Secondly, Ayano had gotten over her petty rivalry, with Toshino Kyoko. In fact, the two of them had started dating.

One day, Ayano was at her workplace, while working hard. Ayano was a serious person, who put a lot of effort and passion, into what she was assigned. When she was a part of the Student Council, she took her job very seriously and acted mature and hardworking, despite her young age. After getting a real job, Ayano's dedication, to being the most dedicated worker around, didn't change.

While Ayano was working, Mr. Priceless and signaled to her, to come to his office. Ayano got off her chair and started walking to her boss' office. She started getting afraid, because she feared her boss was mad at her or was disappointed about something. Despite what a strong worker Ayano was, she often didn't have confidence in herself.

Ayano went into the office and sat down, while nervously saying, "Hi Mr. Priceless. As always, it's nice to see you." She noticed her boss got a new tie, which was shaped like an egg. She thought it was weird, but she wanted to be nice, so she said, "Sharp tie, Mr. Priceless."

Mr. Priceless straightened his tie, while saying, "Thank you." He took a pause, before saying, "First off, I want to congratulate, when it comes to your work. You've been doing a very good job."

Ayano felt flattered, while saying, "Thank you."

Mr. Priceless replied, "Second off, I have an announcement."

Ayano tried to control her fear, but that didn't stop her from having a bit of sweat, which came down her face. She wiped the sweat away and asked, "What's the news?"

Mr. Priceless sighed and said, "Ms. Sugiura, before you started working here, I had lost my way. I was goofing around and focusing on collecting 1960s' eggs, rather than running this company and getting work done. After I employed you, you got a load of work done, that I should of taken care of. You inspired me, to believe in my own company."

Ayano bowed to her boss, because she had never felt so honored. In the past, her hard work often went unnoticed and unappreciated. Hearing her boss compliment her work was a moment, which she treasured. She said, "Thank you very much, Mr. Priceless. If I've benefited this company in any way, I'm truly honored."

Mr. Priceless replied, "Since this business is doing better, more companies want to do business with me. In order to make a new business deal come true, we'll have to go on a trip, to China. We'd be gone for a week, but you'll be getting a raise. What do you think of my offer?"

Ayano sat around, while not being sure what to say. Leaving for a week, without asking Kyoko's permission, felt wrong to her. However, after thinking it through, it didn't feel so bad. After all, Kyoko was her girlfriend, not her parent or superior, so she was allowed to make her own decisions. In addition to that, Kyoko often went on week-long trips, so Ayano's trip didn't seem like much of a problem, after Ayano thought it through. She looked back at her boss and said, "I'll go on the trip."

Mr. Priceless smiled, while replying, "That's excellent to hear, Ms. Sugiura. We'll be going next week." He shook hands with Ayano, before having his intern come inside and start cleaning his egg collection.

After work, Ayano drove to Kyoko's house. Although she didn't regret her decision, she was afraid Kyoko wouldn't accept the news. Kyoko was an unpredictable, weird person, so Ayano felt a little uneasy, while getting out of her car and knocking on Kyoko's house door.

Kyoko opened the door, with a grin on her face. She started embracing Ayano, while saying, "It's good to see you."

Kyoko tried to kiss Ayano, but Ayano dodged her lips and said, "I'm not here, for a bunch of lovey-dovey stuff. I have something, that we should discuss. It's not the most glamorous of news, but it's an issue, that we should talk about."

Kyoko replied, "Very well then, my overly-serious cutie. We can hug on the couch, while you talk about whatever's on your mind."

Ayano stubbornly responded, "No hugging. I'm trying to give an important piece of news, Toshino Kyoko."

Kyoko sighed and replied, "Very well then."

Ayano sat down and said, "Kyoko, there's a work-related, that I'm going to be going on. I'll be gone, next week." Kyoko made a pouty face. Ayano said, "Ah, you gotta give me a break, Kyoko. After all, you've been on plenty of trips."

Kyoko replied, "Yeah, but that's before our relationship grew."

Ayano lovingly held Kyoko's hand, while saying, "I know, but things are going to be okay. It's only going to be a week. I've been having a lot of success, at my work. My boss is very pleased with me and I'm very proud, of how things have been going."

Kyoko hugged Ayano, while replying, "I'm happy for you."

Ayano had a surprised look on her face, while asking, "Really?"

Kyoko nodded and said, "Yeah, it sounds like things are going really well. You used to be so reserved and shy. Because of that, the world didn't get to experience the amazing person you are, deep down. I felt stupid, for not realizing how much you matter to me, until school was over."

Ayano blushed, while replying, "It's no big deal. Things used to be confusing and I used to hide my emotions, but those days are over. Now, I embrace my true feelings and I have very romantic and sweet feelings, when it comes to you. Before you came along, my life was good, but it felt like there was an element, that my life was lacking. You were that element."

Kyoko jokingly asked, "I'm an element? That's pretty cool."

Ayano replied, "Anyways, I love you."

Kyoko responded, "I love you too." Kyoko kissed Ayano and gave her a hug.

The next week, Ayano finished packing her stuff, before driving to Kyoko's house. She tried to give Kyoko a nice, quick goodbye, but Kyoko wasn't okay with that. She wanted Ayano to stay longer, so she could give her tons of hugs, kisses, and other signs of affection. Ayano gave Kyoko a sweet kiss on the lips, as a way of saying goodbye. Kyoko had a big grin on her face and her head was in the clouds, which Ayano a chance to get to the airport, before her flight left.

Ayano got on the airplane and met up with her boss. She shook her boss' hands and said, "Hi Mr. Priceless."

Mr. Priceless replied, "Greetings, Ms. Sugiura. You arrived later, than I was expecting. The plane's going to be leaving, in a few minutes."

Ayano looked a bit guilty, while saying, "I'm sorry, but my girlfriend's been making a fuss, about me going on this trip. Because of that, I had to give her a long goodbye."

Mr. Priceless calmly replied, "I understand. It sounds like you two have a loving relationship. That's a beautiful thing, in my personal opinion." He put his hand on his chin, while saying, "Speaking of love, I'm thinking about selling eggs, that are shaped like hearts."

While on her trip, Ayano had a very good time. As always, she was very professional and dignified. She gave a very well-organized, detailed, and thoughtful presentation, which impressed the company, that Ayano and her boss were visiting. Ayano often saved her boss, from getting distracted and focusing on his egg hobby.

Meanwhile, Kyoko was having a hard time, with Ayano being gone. Ayano hadn't been paying Kyoko as much affection and attention, as she wanted, due to her busy job. Kyoko often avoided getting a real job, due to her immaturity. Because of that, she had a lot of free time and she wanted to spend that time with Ayano. However, Ayano wanted to focus on her work, which Kyoko understood, but she wasn't thrilled about.

During the third day of Ayano's trip, Kyoko was going for a walk. She hoped she'd find something fun or exciting, during her stroll. After a few minutes of walking around, she accidentally bumped into Chinatsu Yoshikawa. Chinatsu almost fell to the ground, but Kyoko caught her. Kyoko smiled and said, "Hi Chinatsu."

Chinatsu gritted her teeth and angrily replied, "You bumped into and almost made me crash, you jerk."

Kyoko shook her hands around, while saying, "Hold on there, Chinatsu. Both of us weren't paying attention, so we can both be blamed."

Chinatsu sighed and replied, "I guess that's fair."

Kyoko noticed Chinatsu was angry and gloomy, so she asked, "What's wrong?"

Chinatsu answered, "I thought Yui and I were bonding. To me, our friendship was stronger than ever and I was hoping we could start dating. However, she got a boyfriend. I never asked her what gender she liked. I feel like an idiot."

Kyoko put her hand on Chinatsu's shoulder, while saying, "You're smarter than me."

Chinatsu replied, "That hardly counts as an honor."

Kyoko said, "Chinatsu, we're both lonely. We feel like we were left behind, by the women we love."

Chinatsu looked confused, while asking, "Did Ayano break up with you or something?"

Kyoko answered, "That's a topic, that I'd rather not talk about. Instead, we should be catching up and hanging out. After all, we've barely hung out, since high school ended."

Chinatsu replied, "Okay then." Kyoko put her arm around Chinatsu and started heading to a nearby diner.

Kyoko had a crush on Chinatsu, before noticing Ayano. However, Chinatsu had no interest in Kyoko, when it came to a romantic relationship. In fact, Chinatsu barely wanted to be one of Kyoko's friends. Kyoko managed to make Chinatsu soften up and become her friend, but a romance didn't end up happening. Well, that used to be the case. Kyoko and Chinatsu were both so desperate, that they ended up kissing, during their lunch.

At the end of the week, Ayano returned home. She drove to Kyoko's house, while wearing an eloquent robe, that was red, which she got from China. She had brushed her hair and had put on a lot of makeup, so she could look extra good, when she visited Kyoko. She knocked on Kyoko's house door.

Kyoko didn't answer the door, which confused Ayano. However, there had been plenty of times, when Kyoko didn't open the door, because she was sleeping or goofing around. Ayano had a key, so she used it and went inside. She looked around and saw Kyoko, who was moping on the floor. Ayano thought Kyoko was moping, because she had been gone for a week. In order to cheer Kyoko up, she sat next to her and gave her a tender kiss. She said, "Hi Kyoko. I missed you a lot, sweetie. How have you been doing?"

Kyoko looked guilty, while saying, "Ayano, there's something I need to tell you. I did something wrong, which I'm ashamed of."

Ayano put her hand on Kyoko's shoulder, while asking, "What is it?"

Kyoko answered, "While you were gone, I missed you so much and I was so lonely, that I cheated on you."

Ayano asked, "What are you talking about?"

Kyoko answered, "Chinatsu and I had a reunion, that became a date. I flirted with her and kissed her. I lied, about not being in a relationship, so I could date her."

Ayano looked offended and sad, while walking out. Kyoko tried to follow her, but Ayano started running. She could of taken her car, but her mind was so jumbled, that she wasn't thinking properly. Kyoko tried to get to Ayano, but she was running faster, than ever before.

After a few minutes of walking, Ayano got to a park, which was mostly abandoned. She sat on a bench, while putting her hand over her face. Tears started pouring out of her eyes. Kyoko got to the park and sat by Ayano. Ayano said, "Please go. You clearly would rather spend time with Chinatsu, than with me."

Kyoko replied, "That's not true. I love you, more than anybody."

Ayano responded, "If that was true, you wouldn't betray my trust and kiss another woman. You don't give a crap about me, do you? You just want someone, who you can kiss."

Kyoko replied, "You're far more to me, than just a pair of lips. You're smart, gentle, special, beautiful, and dating is one of the best decisions, that I've ever made. I had a lot of shallow, but passionate feelings for Chinatsu, ever since I first met her. Those feelings were nostalgic and seeing Chinatsu, after all those time, made my heart experience certain emotions. I thought it was love, but it was just me trying to cling to the past, despite my life becoming better, than it used to be."

Ayano continued having tears, while saying, "You've always been so loving and caring of me, even if you were possessive and immature. If I had shown you the love you deserve, you wouldn't of been tempted, to find somebody else. In a strange way, this is my fault."

Kyoko shook her head and replied, "No, I'm the one, who did the wrong thing. I betrayed you, lied to Chinatsu, and acted like an immature, self-obsessed idiot. As selfish as I may sound, I still want to date you."

Ayano responded, "That's not selfish, because I still want to date you."

Kyoko asked, "Really?" Ayano nodded. Kyoko said, "But I broke your heart."

Ayano replied, "Yes, but you also warmed my heart, when we first met. Toshino Kyoko, this situation won't just be forgotten and shoved away. We'll have a lot of issues, that we'll probably have to work on. However, if you promise me, that you'll never cheat on me, I want to be with you, forever."

Kyoko started crying happy tears, while saying, "I'll never cheat on you, Ayano. You're the best thing in my life." Ayano and Kyoko gave one another a long, passionate hug. Kyoko had learned how evil and heartbreaking cheating really is, but Ayano had learned their love will always last.
