Welcome, and hello! This is my first Yugioh fanfic on this account. It has been a while since I've written a Yugioh fanfic, so bare with me. .

But, before this story starts, I must say something - this following story dose not contain any duelling/mention of any short of Duel Monster. I don't feel comfortable writing that yet. If you don't like, then I suggest you exit right now. You'll be disappointed with story.

This prologue is short, and might be confusing. You'll understand this scene more as the story progresses on.

The One That Got Away, Part 1

Prologue

The young 34-year-old CEO sat at his desk where it was pile with nothing but useless documents. As he began to sign his signature name, the phone rang.

"Yes," the CEO said, coldly.

"Mr. Kaiba, you have a phone call on line 2., the secretary said through the line. "They say it's urgent."

Not saying a work back, the CEO picked up the phone and answered it, "Seto Kaiba speaking."

"I can't believe it had to come to this." Seto knew who this was, his voice was just too familiar for him to not know.

"This phone is for business, not personal," Seto said as his neck held the phone for support, while he went back to signing. "Make it quick, Mokuba; I'm working."

Seto could hear his little brother sigh through the line. He could sense something was wrong, even if they're miles apart. "Mokuba, what's wrong?" Seto stopped what he was doing and paid a bit more attention.

On the other line, Mokuba was hesitant to tell Seto what he saw. He knew that it would completely change Seto's world ... "I have something to tell you, Seto ... but I don't know how you'll react?"

"Tell me," Seto demanded. "You know I hate it when people tell me one thing, then change their mind; you either tell me—or you don't tell me."

There was a pause for a split second before Mokuba spilled out the beans. "I—I saw her, Seto? I saw her today."

"Saw who?"

"Rei"

Chapter 1 will be out soon, I'm currently in the process of proofing/fixing grammatical errors. It be longer then this prologue, I promise.
