Harry Potter and the Methods of the Average Person
"Amazing," I thought as I had been transported to the Harry Potter world through time travel or magic or something.
The amazement was quick to vanish.
I was shopping with McGonagall for magic books. "This is truly amazing... a magic book."
"For reals." I added.
"I was sent to shop with you and Hariezer," McGonagall informed. "He went on a weird rant. I don't know why he thought I'd have an assumption on them." McGonagall wondered to herself, them being Hariezer's parents, "he went shopping".
Wait, this is... an obscure nickname for the main character of Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality, or HPMR for short.
Why had he the nickname, unless... the real main character is also in this world?
No, the real question is why I was sent not to the magical world of Hogwarts and instead to a fanfic of it. This is now... a fanfic?
Anyway, he started the trend of rational fics or ratiofics for short. "I see... he started the trend of rational fics or ratiofics for short," I remembered from my past life.
The more I thought about it, I couldn't contain the outrage. Rational fics, of this book, seriously. This is not all but he also spread a thing where he sneered at Rowling and several characters of the book while still calling people who criticized his fanfic "the sneerers". It's fine because they are famous, though the guy is semi-famous I guess.
"I mean, I would not like to read people, hm, being very harsh on my fics." I thought. "Erm, still, should logical people call all criticism like that? Even if the criticism is valid? At the least you wouldn't read them, I guess."
But that is not all. The entire community of ratiofics had downvoted (damn) my rational fiction; agh.
God, I hate them.
Why would you do that?
Anyway, after this I decided to do something else than follow this and...
"This is after I took another named Charles but he went to buy the books for himself."
What?! The memories of my past life returned to me. I had then read a fanfiction that was actually a novel by a Chinese.
In the novel he is an average person who, through eidetic memories or something, read all the books of magic and did practically the same thing... Harry Potter and the Rise of the Average Person, I think it was called.
It was alright, still, the protagonist's I'm-so-neutral-than-you's attitude pissed me off. None of them truly understand what the book is about. Also, what is with the excuse that they are not Sue's just because a single character besides them is also powerful when none of the others are... [note: only the first fic gave that excuse]." Charles couldn't stop mentioning how he's a cook, either. Gah. Gah. Blurgh.
"The thought that I was itself in a fanfic was very puzzling, like a logical paradox." I thought for a moment.
I was then in a fanfiction crossover between two essentially logical fics.
Nooooooooooooooooo!
My new life in the world of magic... ruined.
I swore to take revenge and be more rational than them all, maybe.
