A/N: This is set after Face the Raven.
"'Twas the night before Christmas—"
"'Twas, Miss?"
"Yes, Jamie. Twas."
The Doctor likes these little moments, standing outside the classroom and listening to Clara teach. Her annoyingly faithful students are barely paying attention but she keeps going.
They deserve nice bits of culture, Doctor, she used to say. Of course, they do.
"'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse—"
"EWW!"
"What?"
"They have mice running through their flat!"
"No, actually Terrance. The mice were not stirring. You weren't listening."
"I was, miss. But I'm not anymore. I don't like rats."
"She said mice."
"Same thing!"
"Oi! If you all don't want me to finish, we can go back to the actual lesson."
"NO!"
"Then quiet down and listen."
The school bell is going to ring soon. He should leave before he sees himself. They are going to the Fading Stars of the Bangtore Galaxy. She will like that little trip, eventually. There was a thing about mud monsters but overall she will end the day laughing.
