Present Day
"I loved you, you know." Her softly spoken words, flavored with hints of a strange accent, hit him like a knife-laden accusation. "You were the sun to me. I basked in your warmth, until the day you went cold."
He flinched visibly, though she did not see, for her back was to him. Her golden hair fell in thick tangled waves down her back. He found his guilty gaze taking grateful refuge in the distraction as the fire in the hearth played with the gold of her hair, teased the honey undertones so that it seemed aflame.
"Ra..." he began hoarsly, only to falter, his tongue suddenly frozen. What could he possibly say? I'm so sorry I accused you of playing a part in the murder of our friends?
Somehow he suspected that simply would not do.
But she was only just warming up. All of the angry words she had bottled up after his arrest began to spill past her lips. "You accused me of helping him murder our friends! Our friends, you desjèrb!" She shook now with the anger, and began to speak in Dulkba. "Jhai whara v'vui fryavbs, juu ! V'vui detke fetkii!"
He had been around her long enough to pick up a few Dulkruuvian words, and thus he knew quite well what some of that meant. His face flushed with self righteous anger. He was exhausted, starving, and desperate for help. She was the only one he trusted, enough that upon escaping he had found the paupke stone he had hidden before his arrest. It was similar to a portkey, though it transported the user to a person, not a place.
That person was Ra.
"What ?" She turned then, and for the first time since showing up, paupke stone in hand, he could see her eyes. They were red with tears.
Sirius Black closed his eyes. "Ra, please. I need help."
