Drabble. Hints of Hotaru/Mistress 9. Hotaru had always known that there were no villains in real life, but after the existence of her dark half, she isn't so sure.

A Clean Conscience

There are no villains in real life; she had always heard that saying from adults. There are no antagonists, monsters ore bad guys: there are only humans who follow the wrong instinct. These individuals believe that their actions are justified by certain events or a certain lifestyle. Hotaru had complete faith in that, but recently she begun to express doubt because of it.

Mistress 9 was an evil entity, a presence bathed in the icy aura of malevolence from within her. She represented the hate, sadness and anguish towards the world that abandoned young Hotaru. The crimson seductress left no heart beating and with no reason why. She didn't have a reason for murder and strangely enough, she had no principles in doing so.

The princess of Saturn knew that everyone, even her dark side, would have justified their revenge either in comprehension or complete oblivion. She knew that each and every one of them had either a polluted or a clean conscience. But, within some individuals, she didn't see a pang of guilt at all.
