Disclaimer: I do not own Tokyo Mew Mew or Futari wa Pretty Cure Max Heart or any of the characters. However, I do own the title and storylines.

Please note that Berry (Tokyo Mew Mew) is included in the story, even though she only appeared in Tokyo Mew Mew a la Mode.

Chapter 1: This Can't Be! But It Is!

Nagasia, Honoka and Hikari walked side by side as the school bell rang, signaling school was over.

"Anything new today, Hikari?" Nagasia asked.

"Not much. We just did two tests on fractions," Hikari shrugged.

"Hey, is there any new mission today?" Honoka asked.

"No. But I'm pretty worried. We haven't heard anything from the Dark Zone this week, and it's almost the weekends. The Dark Zone never takes a break in a week. They at least attack once!" Hikari's face darkened.

"I see," Honoka murmured. "No worries. I'll check with Mipple daily, maybe even hourly to see if she's detected any recent attacks."

"Thanks, Yukishiro-san," Hikari smiled weakly.

"Pudding! Zakuro!" Mint and Ichigo ran over to their friends in the park.

"Hey," Zakuro smiled. "Did you have a good day?"
"Of course!" Mint beamed proudly. "I aced a test today!"

"Lucky you," Ichigo muttered.

"Let me guess, you didn't ace a test, or you failed a test, or did badly," Zakuro guessed.

"Yes," Ichigo answered promptly.

"Anyone seen Lettuce-san?" Pudding asked curiously, looking around.

"Say, I haven't seen her either…" Mint commented.

"Hey, look over there," Ichigo pointed to three girls up ahead.

They were gathered in a circle, looking at what seemed like a…hand phone?

"Who are they?" Pudding asked.

"Veron Middle School pupils," Zakuro answered, recognizing the logo on their uniforms and the design itself.

"Whoa, they must've just finished school. But what were they doing with that hand phone? It does seem suspicious…I feel that we should check on them," Mint said.

The four of them walked over to the trio.

However, the blond haired girl snapped the item shut before the group could have a closer look at it.

"What was that?" someone from behind asked suspiciously.

"Lettuce-san!" Pudding cried when she turned around.

"You won't believe it if I tell you. You wouldn't know, for someone as ordinary like you five," the black-haired girl replied.

"We're not ordinary! For your case, we have animal DNA in us!" Berry, who was with Lettuce, suddenly blurted out.

"Animal DNA in bodies…" the orange-haired girl gave it a thought.

"Tokyo Mew Mew, right?" the blond-haired girl cut in sharply.

"Yes," Zakuro confirmed it promptly.

"Then you will believe it. Firstly, I'm Hikari, she's Honoka and she's Nagasia. Secondly, this is not a hand phone. This is a casing for our pets. Mine is Lulun," the blond-haired girl opened her 'hand phone' to reveal a pink, little, bunny-like creature attached inside.

"Wow…" the six of them mused over it.

"AH! Hikari! Since when did you reveal our secret to them?" Lulun cried.

"Relax, they won't hurt you. They're the Tokyo Mew Mew," Hikari explained.

"In that case, hi! I'm Lulun!" the creature greeted with a broad smile.

"Hello," the six of them replied cautiously.
