warning: I obviously don't own any rights to Danny Phantom, so deal with it
Rain splattered the windows of Amity Park High School, distorting Danny's view of the outside world. He was stuck in Lancer's class, listening to another lecture about who knows what. Dash sat a few rows behind, and at the moment was rolling up little balls of paper and tossing them at Danny's head, a few had even stuck in his pitch black hair. Tucker gave Danny a warning look, they both just had detention yesterday after supposedly starting a food fight in the cafeteria after Lunch Lady's reappearance. So he took a deep breath and tried to relax himself, lest he provoke Dash.
"I'm sorry, Daniel, but do you find the history of Medieval England boring?" Lancer called out, mistaking Danny's deep breath for a sigh.
"I- um, what?" Danny, as usual, had not been paying attention, and was caught off guard by the sudden turn of attention. Luckily, Tucker's nerd instincts came to the rescue.
"Actually, Mr. Lancer," Tucker began, "I was wondering if you could go back over the legend of Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table."
"Well maybe if you had paid any attention before, I wouldn't need to, know would I Mr. Foley, but just this once," Lancer replied as the class groaned. Tucker may have saved Danny from embarrassment, but not the class from another boring lecture.
Danny sunk back into his seat, gazing out the window and watching cars drive by through the rain with their headlights on. What he really needed right now was some time alone, just to fly through the town and clear his head, but if the rain didn't lighten up he would have to find something else.
Just then, Danny's breath came out in a blue wisp, like it does when you're outside in the cold. He sat up straight in his chair, and began to look around for the threat. Tucker seemed to notice the change in Danny's demeanor and began looking around as well for the source of his unease.
There was a flash of lighting and thunder that followed soon after, the storm was almost on top of them. Another lightning strike, this time closer than before, and the power went out. Lancer tried his best to calm his students down, but this was much more excited than whatever he was talking about.
A loud boom then resonated through the school as a hole was ripped through their classroom wall. Pulling his way through the room was Vlad Plasmius, a wicked grin on his face and his black and white cape billowing out behind him in the storm that was only growing stronger.
"Danny Phantom," he yelled out above the crashes of the storm and the screams of the students, "I need you to come with me."
Hope you enjoyed the first chapter! I know it's really short, but the later chapters I promise will get longer. I just had this idea in my head and needed to get it down before I lost it. This is my first Danny Phantom fic, so let me know what you think! Please leave a comment or suggestion, I'd love to hear from you!
