The water embraced the pair as they crashed right in. Curie could still hear the commotion on the land, as they sunk to the depths of the water, the pointless resistance of the raiders as they failed to kill the onslaught of the Yao Guai. As Kara's arms tightened around her waist Curie finally looked down towards the other woman. Her blonde hair floated around in the muddy water and her cheeks were puffed out as she struggled to keep in all the air she had been allowed to breath before going under. And Curie? Curie felt fine. With Kara safe in her embrace and the sounds of danger slowly disappearing from the background she allowed herself to focus solely on the Vault Dweller before her.

Kara's eyes focued on her's and Curie's synthetic heart skipped a beat. Even in the cool of the water she could feel her face warming up, her cheeks burning bright red. A few moments passed before Curie deemed it safe and they resurfaced. Kara gasped loudly as she sucked in air for her depraved lungs. Even as the sun set behind her and the darkness slowly took over she still found the Vault Dweller beautiful, even with her once curly hair stuck to her wet face and jumpsuit, even with all the dirt that covered her face. "You're wet." Kara giggled as she kept her arms wrapped tight on Curie's waist. "I am." Curie simply responded. She couldn't help but be attracted to Kara's joyful nature and bright smile. "We gotta get you dry. Before you get sick." Curie said as she slowly swam them closer to shore. "What about the bears?" Kara asked as she was pulled along. "What about them?" Curie responded.

Kara shook her head and rested it against Curie's shoulder. Curie's heart gave another loud thump and her stomach lurched forward. Once her feet touched the soft muddy ground Curie raised Kara and herself up, letting the water splash back to the lake. "You can let go now." Curie said as Kara kept herself on Curie. "Your so comfortable." Came the response from below and Curie could hear the heaviness of her voice, Kara must be tired. Hooking her hands below Kara's knees and shoulders she softly hoisted her up closer towards her as she finally stepped out of the water and onto dry land. She grunted softly as she walked towards a spot where a couple of trees clumped together offering a bit of protection from both the elements and anything dangerous. As the sun set behind the pair and Curie set her back on a tree she couldn't help but snuggle up closer to Kara and breath in her flowery scent.
