Peter dances. He loves it. It lets him release all the emotions he keeps bundled up inside. Before he became Spiderman, he would spend his evenings in the dance room of the school. He liked ballet best but occasionally branched out into other kinds of dance. Being who he was, he was top of his class. His teachers called him a prodigy. So, naturally when the time came to cast Romeo in the school's production of the famous ballet, the role came onto him. But he didn't mind. He was happy dancing.

One evening, Peter was working in Tony Stark's lab. The man in question was at the table behind him.

"What going on, Pete? You've been quiet."

"It's nothing Mr. Stark, just nervous about the dance show."

"Dance show?" Tony turned around to face the kid.

"Yeah." Peter's eyes light up as he started talking. "I'm Romeo. MJ's Juliet. We're preforming in a week. The whole school will be at the matinee. And all the parents will be at the evening show."

"I didn't know you danced." Tony said.

He left it at that. Peter felt slightly worried.

The next day when Peter showed up at the tower, Friday greeted him.

"Hello Peter. The Boss has told me to ask you to go the dance room on the fiftieth floor."

Peter groaned but he went to the dance room as requested. When he arrived, he gasped.

The rectangular room had a hardwood floor, a wall lined with mirrors, a wall of windows and a bar.

But most impressive were the two figures in the room. One was Tony. The other was the Black Widow. Peter stumbled into the room, eyes as wide as saucers. Natasha turned to Tony and raised an eyebrow.

"He's more graceful than he looks, I promise." Tony assured her. "Pete, meet Natasha Romanoff."

"The Black Widow." he whispered as he shook her hand.

"Tony told me you could dance." She waved her arm towards the rest of the room. "Impress me."

As the adults took their place at the front of the room, Peter stood in the center.

"You know Mr. Stark, You didn't even give me a chance to stretch. That's not fair."

Natasha laughed. Good.

Breathing by Ariana Grande came on. His personal playlist. Tony must have hacked it. He started off with some simple things. A few spins, a few turns. Classic ballet stuff. He felt the eyes of judgment staring him down. The song ended, but he wasn't done. Next up was Yeah! By Usher. Then he closed his eyes. Ignoring the adults, he transitioned to full on hip hop. His footwork was perfect, his posture immaculate. His popping was incredible. When the rap came on, his breakdancing was extraordinary. He didn't stop. The fighter by Gym Class heroes came on. He slowed down to more of a contemporary style. A few songs later, Peter took a bow. His chest heaved. His smile shone. His eyes sparkled. Tony's jaw dropped.

"Kid, that was insane."

Natasha just smiled.

A few months later, May died. Peter went to live at the tower. And when he was up at night, Natasha would come see him in the Dance room. And they would dance Romeo and Juliet together, like they had months earlier, to drown their feelings.
