(This is a Summertime story centered around Hattori and Conan/Shinichi's friendship.)

(I didn't give Hattori an accent. I'm sorry, I can't do it.)

I stared down at my childlike shoes and sighed. It's summer. A time to have fun. I wanted to hang out with Ran as Shinichi, but it seems as though it won't happen anytime soon.

A sudden shadow over above me shook me from my thoughts. I look up to see Ran staring down at me with her hands on her hips and and a pouty face. "Conan, you've been so sad lately what's wrong?" She asked worriedly. "Ah, I just miss my parents." That wasn't entirely false. I actually did miss my parents. They rarely come to check on me. They're just too busy.

"Your parents should really come to see you more often." She sighed again. "Yesterday I called Hattori to come over to hang out with you. You should go change your clothes. He'll be here in about twenty minutes."

I ran to grab some clothes. A yellow and orange striped shirt and tan shorts. I changed into them and walked out of the room. Hattori was already there. "Hey ku co Conan kun. You're coming with me." Without warning he picked me up by the back of the shirt and started to walk off. I tried to struggle to get out of his grip. "Bye neechan, we'll be back by eight tonight."

We walked down the street aimlessly as we talked. "So Kudo, what's been bothering you recently?" I sighed and shook my head. "Everything. I miss my body. I can't hang out with Ran or anybody the way I want to. I'm just a kid and nobody takes me seriously. Not even when it's an emergency. Even Ran hasn't been talking about Shinichi or calling." Hattori sighed got down on both his knees to level our heights and put his hands on my shoulders. "Listen Kudo, I know you're very sad and devastated about everything. We just have to wait patiently. Ran may be trying to be more patient. She loves you a lot Kudo. Of course she won't forget you so easily. You have people who love you as well. Instead of just being mopey and sad come on and enjoy your summer." I wiped the tears that almost escaped my eyes and smiled. "Thank you Hattori, I needed that."

Quickly I hugged him and ran ahead. "Hurry slowpoke, we're gonna be late for the ice cream summer sale!!"
