This Story is dedicated to my good friend who forced me to write a story about Teddy Lupin, her FAVORITE next generation character! Irene, this one's for you! Enjoy!
Teddy was walking through an aisle in his Uncle George's joke shop when he stopped to look at a new product George had not yet told him about. It was shiny, silver, and couldn't find out how to use it. As he was trying to discover something that it did, two boys about the same age as Teddy were turned into the same aisle. He couldn't happen but to overhear their conversation about what their father's did.
"My dad is the new owner of Olivander's! We've had people in our family that can read wands since like forever! I'm most likely going to be next, he thinks! I know that that tops your dad job!" The first boy said most likely trying to top whatever it was that the other boy's father did. Teddy started to get a little sad because he never really knew his father, and can never talk about what he does since he is dead. He just continued to examine the new toy, but was still listening.
"Nothing is better than a Hogwarts professor!" The other boy said.
"Oh, really?"
Teddy could feel the first boy walking up to him. He knew what was coming, and he was right.
"Hey, you, kid! What does your dad do?"
Teddy put the new toy down, and froze. Six-year-old Teddy had been asked this question once before, but at that time he was much younger and had broken down crying since his dad was dead. Then; however, he remembered what his Godfather, Harry, had told him after this incident. Smiling, Teddy looked the boy straight in the eye and said, "Well, my father died when I was a baby, but he was an auror who was a part of the Order of Phoenix; both the original and the newer one that got started back up again after Voldemort's return. He fought in the Battle of Hogwarts which is where he died. He's the greatest!
Both boys looked amazed at him. They did of course know the, and understand everything he was talking about. Being wizard children, they had been told the stories about Voldemort and Harry Potter. All the first kid had to say was, "Whoa!", and the second continued with a, "Respect!", and a nod of the head. Both kids walked on knowing that someone had won the battle that they had started, and wasn't one of them.
