Author's Note: Idk I did a thing b/c I was feeling a Zelink vibe?

Link pulled Zelda's hand, weaving through and around underbrush and bushes before pulling back a curtain of vines. The trees oddly formed a circular wall on the other sides surrounding them; the only opening in the circle being the entrance, the wall of vines and leaves. The top was not covered by trees, allowing sunlight to stream in. Even the trees on the sides left small, gaping holes between them to allow sunlight to filter in from the sides; however, they were not big enough for outsiders to look into. The ground was covered in patches of colorful flowers of hues in vivacious violets, soft pinks, pale yellows, and a whole plethora of other colors. All of these things reminded him of her. The natural beauty and serenity he found there and that was when he decided that this was the perfect spot.

"Look, Zelda…" He trailed off, giving thought and consideration into his speech. He had prepared what he was going to say, but he didn't feel like that captured his character. 'To hell with it,' he thought before letting the words come naturally instead. "I may be different than the others, in social standing, in manner, and in personality, but I will protect you. I will always risk my life and limb to protect your wellbeing and make sure that not a single hair on your head is harmed," he said, raising a lock of her hair to his lips before kissing it. "I promise to always to loyal and devoted to you and only you, as my princess and as the love of my life," he broke into a grin at the end of the sentence as a light pink tint appeared upon his cheeks. "I want to be with you forever and always and try to make you the happiest woman in the world. You see, this place," he gestured to the meadow around him, "is my sanctuary. It is a place that I have never revealed to anyone before now, except you. It was a place that I went to unwind after a long and tasking day, or the place I went when I needed a breather. Now that I've shared this with you, I need a new sanctuary, a new place to go whenever I feel lost or fed up with the world and I want that place to be you. I want you to be the one that I can always confide in and cherish, my love, and I yours," he smiled, cupping her cheek and brushing his thumb across the side.

"So," he started before getting down on one knee, pulling out a mauve-colored, velvet box. He opened the box, revealing the ring that contained a large sapphire stone. The stone symbolized harmony and commitment; however, he had mostly chosen it because it reminded him of her, her calmness and wisdom. It had also supposedly assisted with mental clarity which was fitting. He had never been quite sure about his purpose in life until she came around. She was the only thing in his entire life that he was sure about. He looked up at her once more hopefully as he watched the tears well up in her eyes, "will you marry me?"

Zelda choked back a sob as she nodded rapidly, unable to speak at the time, overcome with emotion. She wrapped her arms around him as she finally managed to choke out, "yes, yes, a thousand times yes."
